The Education Support Assistant is responsible for supporting the local education teams with administrative duties for the success of locally based adult education provision. The role is a customer facing role, requiring excellent communication skills both face to face and over the telephone, having the ability to deliver advice and guidance to our wide-range of learners, building rapport to enable successful support and direction.

The scale and breadth of our curriculum offer is what makes us special. It is our most powerful and important tool in meeting the needs of our learners and the communities, regardless of starting point or educational need - We bring learning to the learner, whether it be in local trusted venues or their living room via online learning.

Although we are looking for a full-time colleague to join the Derby team, we are more interested in getting the right person for the role, so of you feel your skills and experience make you an ideal candidate but you would like to explore part-time working, please do still apply, we would love to hear from you.

As an Education Support Assistant, you will have experience of general administration, you will be well organised, with the ability to multi-task and manage a busy workload.

You will work in a team of educational colleagues and will be involved in:

  • Ensuring the efficiency of processes supporting the learner experience;
  • Providing advice and support to learners, colleagues and other service users;
  • Supporting the learner lifecycle process, through maintenance of record updates and changes, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.

You will be pivotal in the learner journey, ensuring that individuals receive information, advice, and guidance prior to starting their chosen course to ensure that it is right for them and matches their personal and career aspirations. You will be required to provide guidance both remotely, over the telephone and in person.
