Role Purpose:
HSBC Sustainable Finance’s mission is to support our clients to become more sustainable across climate, nature, and social/inclusion priorities and help companies transition to a lower-carbon economy.
The role holder will work with internal and external stakeholders to cover opportunities with high-growth “Green” tech companies and their venture capital investors across Europe, in order to directly create deal flow for the venture debt team.
Many of these organisations will be new-to-bank opportunities and will require very active engagement directly and indirectly with the ecosystem.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Research prospect clients, industries, capital providers, innovations in sustainability and cross check with our scorecard.
- Develop and execute pitches, speak to Founders / CFO’s / Investors to develop opportunities and produce call reports.
- Manage our pipeline, support prospecting and planning, deal structuring.
- Support our Platform through collaboration projects and other activities.
- Develop your network to support deal flow and our external reputation.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Experience in a client-focused environment with ideally broad experience of Financial/Banking industry.
- Strong, track record of business development with ability to network and reach out to stakeholders at different senior level
- Direct experience of working in a dynamic environment and adapting to new opportunities, ways of working and processes
- Client-facing relationship management – internal and external
- Knowledge and experience of the Tech / Venture Capital Climate/Sustainability ecosystem and agenda
- Strong work ethic and appreciation of working in a global environment.
- Working across teams and geographies to win new customers
- French and/or German language an advantage (but not a requirement)
The base location for this role will be 8 Canada Square, London with hybrid working
