Glasshouse College is located in the heritage glassmaking district of Stourbridge and is part of the Ruskin Mill Trust, providing Specialist Independent Education to young people aged from 16 to 25 years.
For over 35 years, Ruskin Mill Trust has provided Specialist Independent Educationto children and adults with complex needs including learning difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions and disabilities. Our provisions offer both day and residential placements and applications. Inspired by Aonghus Gordon using the insights of Rudolf Steiner, John Ruskin and William Morris, Ruskin Mill Trust works with hand, head, heart and place to provide students with the tools to transform material and in doing so transform themselves.
Education, Health and Care Manager – (PSTE)
40 hours per week 52 weeks per year
Salary Range: £35,566 - £38,492
From 1st September 2023, Salary Range: £36,663 - £39,647

We have an exciting opportunity for an Education, Health and Care Manager to join the team at Glasshouse College in Stourbridge. Glasshouse College includes an art centre with large theatre, heritage and glass centres, plus a 40-acre farm in nearby Kinver.
The purpose of the role is to be responsible for a small caseload of students, ensuring each student benefits from Ruskin Mill Trust’s innovative Practical Skills Therapeutic Education(PSTE) curriculum and receives the training and support they need to fulfil the outcomes identified in their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
Within this role, you would have the opportunity to
- Understand and advocate for each caseload student, coordinating their overall programme at college
- Be the main point of contact in relation to all relevant individual and agencies, both internal and external
- Ensure consistent and effective liaison with all external agencies and stakeholders of each caseload student
- Support the overall management of the college
The post holder will be expected to embrace, articulate and work with the Trust’s ethos, informed by Steiner education, which is maintained, implemented and integrated within the therapeutic provision within the College. To undertake this position successfully you will have:
- High levels of resilience, patience and a passion for supporting young people with complex needs achieve and thrive
- A sound understanding of all legal and regulatory requirements and frameworks
- Excellent administrative, report writing, logistical, social and communication skills
- The ability to work flexibly as required including evenings, weekends and the college holidays
- A willingness to work across other RMT sites, as required
- A sound understanding of a wide range of possible diagnoses of students such as autism, attachment difficulties, ADHD, epilepsy, learning difficulties as well as mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety disorder, schizophrenia as well as substance dependencies
