We also commission and sell our own range of exclusive model locomotives and rolling stock.
Steam Railway is at the heart of the railway preservation movement, presenting all the latest happenings from the UK’s many heritage railways, museums and attractions. As well as delving into our railway heritage, we also focus on the people who keep our vintage trains and preserved railways running.

The Main Focus of the Role:

You will play a key role in supporting the editorial staff and contributors, ensuring they can produce the best possible content each month, while also providing an effective contact point for readers of both Model Rail and Steam Railway.

Key Responsibilities:

The role encompasses a wide range of administrative tasks, including:
  • Working with Editors to help manage editorial budgets, processing payments to contributors and photo agencies, as well as dealing with payments and associated paperwork regarding Model Rail’s exclusive range of models.
  • Dealing with expense claims and travel arrangements for editorial staff.
  • Fielding queries and correspondence from readers, contributors and members of the railway and model industry, with support from the Editors and team members.
  • Managing incoming post and distributing to staff and contributors.

What we’re looking for:

A well organised, friendly individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a can-do approach. Previous experience in a similar role would be welcome.
