Job description

Editor
Salary: £36,256
Closing date: 29/01/2023 - Late applications will not be accepted.
Contract type: 12-month fixed term contract (maternity cover)
Wellcome Collection is a free museum and library that aims to challenge how we all think and feel about and experience health. Through exhibitions, collections, live programming, digital, broadcast and publishing, we create opportunities for people to think deeply about the links between science, medicine, life, and art.
The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation. We improve health for everyone by funding science, leading policy, and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships.
We plan to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health, and wellbeing, and taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease and climate and health.
These challenges need the bold science we support, but they won’t be solved by science alone.
We are looking for an Editor to join our team on a 12-month fixed term basis (maternity cover)
Where in Wellcome will I be working?
Publishing is part of Wellcome Collection’s Public Programmes team, responsible for the museum’s lively and innovative public offer, including temporary and permanent exhibitions, live events, books, touring exhibitions and international initiatives.
We publish narrative non-fiction books on health and the human condition, working primarily with publishing partners – and as an imprint of the leading independent publisher

Is this job for me?
You will be responsible for keeping on top of the critical path, including the design and production schedules for our titles, building strong relationships within Wellcome Collection and with our key partner publishers.
