Role Summary

J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management Marketing is seeking an Editor/Writer to write, edit and publish multi-channel financial-focused content for J.P. Morgan clients and prospects. This position is within the Creative Services team, an in-house agency that supports multiple marketing efforts for the firm.

You will have a thorough understanding of financial markets and the financial services industry, experience in digital publishing, content marketing, and a comprehensive understanding of how branded content can be packaged and used across a full digital ecosystem. You will have proven ability to craft sharp, pithy and appealing copy for print and digital channels including social media posts. Day-to-day responsibilities include conceiving, creating and editing content to make it channel-appropriate, presenting creative ideas for internal review, writing supporting promotional and social messaging, and packaging materials for publishing.

You will be able to interact readily with Marketing strategists and business leaders, as well as creative partners (including other writers, designers and digital production partners) to develop and deliver content across multiple client and public platforms.

You will also be responsible for helping Creative Services improve the quality of our content and procedures with an emphasis on our digital content and channels.

This position requires close collaboration with key partners, including:

  • Marketing Strategy
  • Portfolio Managers and Asset Class Leaders
  • Front Office (Bankers and Investment Specialists)
  • Legal/Compliance

Job Responsibilities

  • Conceive, write, edit and provide editorial oversight of timely, relevant content, supporting strategic ideas, themes and business goals, including:
    • Digital content, such as articles, headlines, teasers, infographics and social media
    • Supporting materials, such as technical articles, market commentaries and white papers
  • Initiate content ideas, collaborating with creative, marketing and internal business partners
  • Communicate complex financial concepts in a clear, engaging, client-oriented and channel-appropriate manner
  • Ensure that our content consistently respects editorial style and tone guidelines, across all channels
  • Work with all stakeholders to reach agreement on final copy, keeping partners informed of job status and delivering on deadline
  • Stay current on global financial markets, regulatory and global economic activities
  • Perform other assignments and special projects, as required

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience writing and editing, including in digital publishing formats
  • Outstanding editorial skills (writing, editing and analysis)
  • Experience editing content for scope, flow, style and tone guidelines
  • Aptitude for organization, attention to detail, time management, collaboration, and problem-solving
  • Experience with presenting ideas and leading creative discussions
  • News and cultural awareness

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience in business writing and editing (finance and banking a plus)
  • Passion for understanding complex financial information on a sharp learning curve
  • Diplomacy for hearing and accepting input—and self-confidence for making professional recommendations that may differ from the routine
  • Master’s degree and degrees in Journalism, English or Creative Writing a plus
