EDI & Wellbeing Partner

EDI & Wellbeing Partner Remote

First Bus
Full Time Remote 35000 - 42000 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

First Bus are looking for an EDI and Wellbeing Partner to play a key part in our journey to creating a workplace where everyone is welcome, can be their true selves and succeed!

When done brilliantly, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing can be so much more than compliance and regulations. It's about having an impact through building networks, forging connections, making it relevant and unleashing the energy in people. It's about celebrating the difference of all our people and showing them that we care!

As our EDI & Wellbeing Partner, you will work closely with the Head of EDI and Wellbeing as a key part of the inclusion and wellbeing team. You'll be given plenty of space to look at what other organisations are doing to increase diverse representation and translate that into projects here at First Bus. You'll work with colleagues across First Bus to support and advise on the implementation of the First Bus inclusion plans, taking a leading role in the wellbeing of the First Bus team.

This is a great opportunity to bring fresh ideas into First Bus and partner with different areas across the business, meaning there will be an element of travel to meet your colleagues face to face. However, we embrace a hybrid way of working so you will be based from home.

What will you be doing?

  • Working with Our First Bus Inclusion Networks to ensure they're a key platform for colleagues to discuss inclusion topics and shape our future plans, together with the governance around the executive sponsors and Inclusion Forum
  • Scoping and designing projects based on internal and external research, working with centres of excellence to bring the projects to life
  • Pulling information together from different sources to create and deliver facilitated sessions, to increase confidence and knowledge
  • Working with the Internal Comms team to create campaigns that turn the dial on inclusion topics
  • Continuing the journey of Our First Bus Census and turning our existing and new EDI data into insight, to help drive meaningful action
  • Building the guidance for the business around future property blueprints, such as multifaith and meditation rooms
  • Being a visible representative of First Bus' commitment to ED&I and wellbeing, both internally and externally and finding meaningful ways to promote our progress and raise our profile

What are we looking for?

  • A working knowledge of equality, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility and wellbeing is desired but not essential – what is essential, is a curiosity to learn and a determination to make a difference for all our colleagues at First Bus
  • An understanding/awareness of the Equality Act 2010
  • Comfortable researching different topics from various sources and translating this into actions for First Bus
  • Strong background in MS Excel and PowerPoint, being comfortable with numbers and displaying them in an attractive way
  • Strong attention to detail and written communication, with ability to understand the nuances of different inclusion and wellbeing topics
  • Excellent people skills with ability to influence and engage at all levels
  • Creative minded, recognising that there are commercial limits to work within, but a paranoia about not letting this limit what can be done

What can we offer you?

A competitive salary of between £35k - £42k DOE, plus the excellent benefits listed below and more!

  • Free bus pass for you and your family on joining
  • 25 days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays
  • First Xclusives – Discounts on many high street brands, supermarket's, holiday's and cinema tickets, to name a few
  • First My Rewards - Discounted train travel for you and your family after 6 months service – travel as far as London and Edinburgh for £6!
  • Generous pension and shares scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme – 24hr, 365 days a year mental health support
