Exceptional organization and interpersonal skills are a must in this role. You will be expected to take ownership of a range of responsibilities such as preparing in-depth analytical reports, including data analysis in the form of reporting cables and memos to brief U.S. Embassy officials and Washington government agencies on UK economic topics. Other duties will include: developing and maintaining a broad range of local government, private sector, think tank, non-governmental, and academic contacts; and advising on and supporting all aspects of arranging appropriate meetings or programs for U.S. Embassy officials, U.S. government members on official travel to the UK and Economic Section and Mission events.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Public Policy, or International Relations is required.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have experience in an economic policy, strategy, or analyst role.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the British economy, and British and EU economic and regulatory structures and institutions is required.
LANGUAGE:
Fluency in both written and spoken English (this may be tested) is required.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to carry out independent research and analysis based on public sources and information gathered from contacts. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and deal tactfully and independently with a wide range of British contacts.
