Key Responsibilities:
Senior Manager, Labor Economics provides analytic and strategic support for contract negotiations and company-wide labor initiatives that impacts 85,000+ represented domestic and international employees; provides ad-hoc financial analysis for Sr. HR and LR leadership. The position works closely with divisional leadership and subject matter experts to understand all economic aspects of labor contracts and partners with the Financial Analysis team to develop economic models.
- Provides strategic solutions to economic issues raised during contract negotiations
- Manages development of financial model, including validating data inputs, determining methodology, and deciding how best to present findings to leadership
- Provides strategic benchmarking analyses for all labor groups
- Proficient on industry trends and understand major labor cost drivers for United and competitors
- Translates data into concise information for senior leadership to make better labor decisions
- Collaborates directly with executives on people and change management initiatives
- Provides analytic and strategic support for international labor relations
- Oversees implementation of new labor agreements and ongoing contract changes
- Performs ad-hoc and recurring analyses related to the company's labor expense
- Builds a comprehensive financial analysis tool by integrating data from several sources and systems

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree in economics, finance, business, or equivalent years of experience
- 5 years in financial analysis or related field
- Proven superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently on multiple projects while meeting deadlines
- Ability to lead projects and teams
- High degree of proficiency in developing complex financial models using Microsoft Excel and Access, and translating results for presentation through an executive summary/PowerPoint
- Digital literacy - Expert level Excel
- Excellent demonstrable written and oral communications skills and the ability to interact professionally with senior leadership
- Must be comfortable presenting to leadership teams
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across multiple areas of the company and at all levels in an organization
- Must be willing and able to travel
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
