You will be studying towards a Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship Qualification.

Who are we looking for?

  • To be able to demonstrate a passion for technology by sharing prior coding experience
  • GCSE in English & Maths (4-9 or C-A*), if you do not, you will be able to work towards this alongside your apprenticeship
  • Curious and creative mind-set
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A growth mind-set
  • Ability to work in a team in a hybrid environment (remote and in the office)
  • Must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject
  • Must have lived in the UK for 3 years prior to the apprenticeship start date

What you’ll be doing

As part of the Software Engineering team, you’ll work closely with diverse business and customer-facing teams, building products that drive optimisation and support data driven decisions. As a member of our cross-functional squads, you’ll contribute to team goals and business outcomes, creating customer focused products and platforms. You’ll collaborate with Engineering leadership and other software engineers to embrace best practices and deliver products using an agile methodology.

A typical day would involve working as part of a dynamic and highly effective team, participating in and owning elements of the full software development lifecycle. This may include;

  • Developing and maintaining clean code, including design, testing, debugging and deployment of tasks and features.
  • Collaborating on application architecture, design, test and build
  • Advocating for cloud solutions for scalability and robustness
  • Ensuring reliable and timely delivery of commitments
  • Ensuring software quality through extensive testing.
  • Collaborating closely with testing security and operations teams for highly resilient and secure solutions

You will join Ignite: Technology, this is a community of apprentices who will support you with your apprenticeship and share insights through online collaboration tools and events. Life at DLG.
