Purpose:

The eCommerce Marketing Executive is an exciting hire to help accelerate the club’s eCommerce business, contributing to our successful growth as a club.

The Role:

Based in the newly created Digital Products & Experiences team and reporting to the Head of eCommerce Marketing, this role will play a pivotal role in daily ecommerce trading and elevating our product stories and images based on fan insights.
You will help define and shape key trading moments across a seasonal calendar of key club and fan moments, delivering omnichannel marketing campaigns. Working closely with the football department, fans and collaborators, you will also help to elevate our content and photography production across our platforms and channels including our shopfront, United Direct, ensuring our product stories at the forefront.
You will be obsessed with our fans and their experiences, understanding how best to reach them across the marketing funnel, focused on rewarding fan loyalty.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Responsible for planning and communicating the club’s seasonal trading calendar with stakeholders, including new product launches, promotions and peak sales periods, leverage key club and fan moments.
  • Working closely with the campaign team, deliver channel activation across owned channels including app and web for new product launches and key trading moments including shaping and managing campaign rollout plans.
  • Working closely with the Content, Social, CRM and paid teams, owning and updating daily trading across all ecommerce and owned platforms and channels.
  • Manage the club ‘s ecommerce presence across web and app including website navigation and gallery, shop banners and all carousels of products within the Man Utd official app.
  • Support the Head of eCommerce Marketing on daily, weekly and quarterly reporting for trading, communicating and ensuring implementation of data-led improvements for marketing effectiveness across all channel and delivery teams.
  • Help plan and manage our annual photoshoot calendar through the year based on annual and quarterly planning, including managing monthly player access day photo shoots, leading on stakeholder management across Retail & Merchandise, Brand, Creative and Social teams.
  • Be an expert on our products and their stories, managing shoot logistics including samples and image guidelines to deliver high quality of output.
  • Build long-term relationships with the Creative team internally and freelancers externally.

This role requires a solid knowledge of D2C ecommerce, retail and content production experience, preferably from within the fashion retail industry. You will need excellent project management skills, and a balance of being both creative and process driven. You’ll have a keen eye for detail and comfortable managing multiple projects across different marketing, trading & content disciplines, in a fast paced environment.

You will be a team player who has a collaborative approach, ability to work at pace and under pressure. You will also have strong interpersonal skills and an ability to get the best out of other colleagues

The Person:
  • Minimum 2 years agency or in-house experience in a similar marketing role including within retail marketing and content management.
  • Experience updating marketing platforms and / or ecommerce platform / CMS systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, confident to flex tasks and priorities easily
  • Keen interest in all things ecommerce retail, marketing and content production
  • A balanced mindset of creativity and data driven commercial acumen, able to support generation of ideas and drive them through to execution
  • Sound understanding of performance measurement with strong analytical skills, able to create robust analysis and significant insights to drive recommendations and actions
  • Strong communication skills with a strong sense of self awareness
  • Strong project management skills, creating and managing timing plans under tight time pressure and budget.
  • Ability to build good relationships with internal stakeholders and manage their expectations on overall delivery of projects/campaigns.
  • An enthusiastic, can-do approach and be a strong team player with the ability to juggle conflicting demands on time and priorities effectively.
  • A desire to embrace and drive change whilst identifying and supporting process improvements and demonstrating best practice.
