Salary: $15.00 – $16.00 per hour, nonexempt Hours: Full-Time, up to 40 per week Supervisor: Program Manager and/or Director Florence Crittenton Child Enrichment Center provides licensed, inclusive, high-quality care for children. The Early Childhood Lead Teacher (ECLT) in the 2- to 3-year-old classroom plans and coordinates the childcare program under the supervision of the Early Childhood Supervising Manager and with assistance from other center staff; ensures that daily practices meet state licensing and other safety and program quality expectations and is primarily focused on providing high quality childcare to all children attending the center. THE POSITION High-Quality Environment for Children Ages 2 to 3 Ensures daily child attendance is recorded and provided to appropriate departments; Implements Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS); Administers, facilitates and or monitors all developmental, literacy and behavioral assessments and screenings for all children enrolled; Tracking, assessment, and documentation of children’s skill acquisition in the five developmental domains; Collection and analysis of behavioral and academic data for the purpose of designing/planning behavioral and academic interventions. Classroom Program Operations Responsible for and leads in daily and regular program operations including, but not limited to: Coordinate and maintain consistent daily schedule and routines; Supervision of up to 14 children (ages 2 to 3) with diverse abilities and backgrounds; Conducting group and individual instruction of students, as well as engaging in collaborative teaching with other staff focused on social/emotional, resiliency building, behavioral, self-help/Independence, and academic skills; Prepare and maintain lessons, learning centers, and classroom activities; Plan thematic units incorporating a variety of curricula, including special resiliency-building lessons and emergency preparedness; Align program curricula with the Montana Early Learning Standards; Implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEP’s) as necessary; Interacting positively and professionally with up to 14 families regarding individual interventions and progress toward specific special education goals; Maintaining a hygienic, developmentally appropriate; Documentation of behavior and safety issues using Safety Logs and Behavior Incident Reports; Demonstrates flexibility in schedule and activities throughout the day; Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, and students; Ensuring a safe, nurturing educational environment; Maintaining a clean, age-appropriate environment, including updating themes, room décor and maintaining supplies. Family Support Assists Supervising Manager during tours with families; Provides family orientation regarding program; Hosts family child teacher conferences 3x per year; Leadership Trains and supervises client, staff, volunteer, practicum student for compliance with program specific facility policies, rules and procedures; Provides positive descriptive feedback to other teachers to support their growth and development as educators; Leads the staff in the adoption and maintenance of the Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency Model (ARC); Maintains the classroom as a demonstration site for trauma-informed early childhood programs by incorporating components of ARC framework and trauma informed PBIS practices/techniques into existing practices, policies, programs, and curricula; Professional Development Achieves and maintains membership in good standing in the MT Early Childhood Project’s Practitioner Registry and is willing to move to higher levels on the registry as appropriate Fulfills all training requirements and develop a profession development plan annually to increase level of education/knowledge Program Compliance with Federal, State, and Local Programs/Accreditations Assists the development and implementation of and compliance with current childcare practice standards, state and federal programs, government policy and procedure, Florence Crittenton policy and procedures, and the standards of the Council on Accreditation (COA); Possess working knowledge of all childcare standards, FCFS policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations and Council On Accreditation (COA) regulations that relate to provision of childcare in a licensed facility in the state of Montana; Helps to maintain accreditation and licensure with Program Manager; Maintains and adheres to all aspects of the STARS to Quality program; Maintains key documents required by state and federal programs; Program Management Provides information as necessary to the staff and the Program Manager and Director to assist the team to evaluate the effectiveness of the childcare program including the identification of program needs and implementation of new programs and services; Attends any meetings requested by supervisor; Assists in programmatic growth planning and preparation; A full job description is available upon request. THE PERSON Experience and Education Bachelor of Arts degree in Education or related services field; and minimum of 1-year experience in early childhood program, preschool, or licensed childcare center, or Head Start; OR Early Childhood Education Endorsement; and a minimum of 2 years in an early childhood program such as a preschool, licensed childcare center, licensed family or group childcare, or Head Start Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required is an: ability to provide regular, dependable attendance; understanding of toddler/preschool physical, cognitive and social/emotional development; ability to develop strong relationships and work with families; ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with individuals and in groups; strong attention to detail; ability to remain flexible; ability to remain calm and respond appropriately under high stress situations with children; ability to work well in a team; ability to ask questions and take initiative; and ability to multi-task; work under minimal supervision; exercise problem solving skills.
