What are we looking for?
We are actively seeking an enthusiastic, bright, self-motivated individual to join us. You will be travelling with and assisting the driver of a 3.5 tonne van, helping to load and unload deliveries and collections. You might be required to fulfil other duties within the warehouse when there is no collection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning the vehicle and carrying out minor repairs
- Packing and loading the vehicle, taking account of the delivery order and making sure that items are easily accessible
- Checking that all of the items are accounted for against delivery sheets
- Examining the vehicle before setting off, checking the load is safe
- Helping unload goods at the delivery point
- Removing packaging and placing items at the customer's request
- Obtaining delivery signatures from customers
- Ensuring the right products get to the right places at the right time and in the right condition
Skills and Personal Qualities Needed:
- Physically fit as you will be loading and unloading
- To be reliable and punctual
- Excellent organisational skills
- Good and responsible attitude
- Tidy appearance, polite manner, good interpersonal
- An awareness of health and safety issues
- A practical knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance
- Good customer service skills
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for completing record sheets and paperwork
- To work well in a team
- Flexible schedule
- Able to pass a DBS Check
Working hours: Monday – Friday
Job Type: Part-time (Minimum 25 hours per week)
Salary: £6.83-£9.50 per hour (National Minimum Wage - National Living Wage rates)
Holidays: 28 days per annum including bank holidays.
