THIS IS A 100% TRAVEL POSITION.
Voxelmaps Inc. is currently working with a major technology company to collect map data across a number of Countries. The collection of map data involves using LiDar, digital imagery systems and GPS instruments to collect raw data for map production system. Upon completion of collecting data each day, you will transfer the data to an online platform through the electronic device provided.
As part of this project we are seeking people to operate and navigate the vehicles around designated areas to be mapped. We are currently recruiting in the UK and Northern Ireland areas. **This position will operate in the United Kingdom and Ireland.** We are looking for Vehicle Mapping Operators (navigation and the operation of the Technical Equipment) who are enthusiastic, friendly and safe. You should be comfortable working for long periods (approximately 8-10 hrs per day) and have experience in operating/navigating in all situations, i.e. cities, freeways, suburban and rural. You should have a working knowledge of GPS and navigation applications. You should have a basic understanding of operating a computer (basic software) and can maneuver between different software applications on a tablet device provided. Technical operation does not require any experience or need for programming.
Mapping Technical Operator & Navigator Responsibilities:
- Project pre-planning
- Operates vehicle in safe and orderly manner
- Ensure accurate collection of data
- Operates LiDar, digital imagery system and GPS instrument
- Record and update drive logs and daily reports
- Responsible for the full cycle operation of ground-based survey equipment including GPS and other hardware as directed by the LiDar System Tech Lead
- Assist in the review and documentation of the processes and procedures with the Acquisitions Supervisor
- A valid operator's license to operate in aforementioned assigned regions.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Ability to listen to managers and complete tasks efficiently.
- Basic Technical Familiarity with maps, phones and tablet computers.
- Be able to logically follow technical instructions.
- Good understanding of the all the aforementioned assigned regions' road networks.
- Be a good communicator and be able to complete reports for managers.
- Strength to lift up to 50lbs, plus bending and twisting.
- Honest, open and transparent communication.
- Data annotation during down times (we will train)
- Must be able to speak fluent English.
- Must be 25 years old (this requirement is based on client's auto insurance restrictions to insure a driver)
- Must live in the UK or Northern Ireland area, preferred locations are Glasgow, Edinberg, Manchester or Liverpool.
- Must not require a work visa to work in the UK.

- Salary: £2700 monthly salary
