We are looking for a reliable recovery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely recovering heavy and light vehicles (depending on licence) following various scenairos inluding road traffic collisions, or breakdown. The candidate ideally will have a class 1 licence , however a class 2 would be acceptable. The Driver will also be responsible for maintaining the yard and vehicles in a clean and orderly condition, as well as performing basic maintenance tasks when necessary. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential for this position. A full police vetting check will be required for this position.
The work will include nights and weekends on a rota, and the candidate will need to be able to stick to strict turnaround times, so living locally to our premises would be advantageous.
We also do regular transport work , that may require driving nationally delivering machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety regulations and procedures.
- Maintain the vehicle in a clean and safe condition.
- Be knowledgeable of the local area and roads.
- Load and unload goods safely.
- Communicate with customers in a professional manner.
- Keep accurate records of trips and deliveries.
- Ensure that the vehicle is serviced regularly.

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Peterborough, PE7 3QU: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Application question(s):
- would be able to stick to strict time scales , e.g. recovering vehicle within 30minutes in the Peterborough/ Huntingdon area including when working from home during on call hours. Therefore please take into account distance to our premises.
