Driver and Caretaker – Hyde House
Dearborn Estates are looking to expand the team and we are looking for someone to take on a dynamic and flexible caretaker role, including property logistics and driving, across our group but primarily based at our
Cotswolds property in Stow-On-the-Wold.
As a luxury and growing events venue business we are looking for someone to proactively be able to work alongside our on-site teams to ensure we can deliver consistent and excellent service to our clients and maintain standards across the group. The role will require flexibility and good communication.
This role will report to the Group Property and Compliance Manager on a day-to-day basis. We are looking for a proven self-starter who can proactively support teams on sites to ensure that we are delivering our standards across the group.
The role will be based at Hyde House working with the property team, but there will be consistent travel required to our other properties in Surrey, Wiltshire, and Head Office in London.
Responsibilities as the Driver and Caretaker
- Being available to travel to properties to check on special projects, moving equipment and assisting with collections and deliveries to sites using our pool vehicle.
- Having a strong understanding of basic trades, DIY and practical skills and being ‘hands-on’ and engaging in maintenance and gardening tasks.
- Support the Group Property and Compliance Manager with their day-to-day projects and improvements across the group, whilst helping them to practically manage the maintenance and standards where required.
- Being available to assist the property teams at our sites with security and night management shifts where required.
- Driving to collect clients and team members from the train station to site in a professional manner, and on time. Assist clients with loading and unloading their luggage.
- Driving for the Company Directors where required.
- Assisting in the maintenance, cleaning and servicing of machinery and vehicles.
- Painting using brushes, rollers and other tools, and applying various different paints e.g. varnishes.
- A positive attitude to problem solving.
- Available to answer out of hour calls for emergency’s, overtime will be paid for this.
Key information
- 40 Hours per week, 8-10 hour shift
- This role will be 5 days per week, and largely based on a Monday-Friday basis with occasional evening and weekend work as required by the business

- Requires a valid driving licence

- Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per year depending on experience
