DWWP provides information, advice and support to all women who work or have ever worked in any area of the sex industry.
DWWP provides outreach services to street-based sex workers, indoor sex workers and a weekly drop in service.
Street Outreach is characterised by ‘a brief intervention’, where the focus will be placed on harm minimisation, motivational interviewing and the offer of follow up contact at a suitable place and time for the sex worker. Outreach occurs two evenings (Monday and Wednesday) throughout the week. Two workers drive around the Bournemouth East area, often referred to as ‘the red light area’ or ‘the beat’, and engage with the women if it is convenient for them. The street outreach provides condoms, lubricants, newsletters, injecting equipment, attack alarms and a wide range of health related information; advice and support such as harm reduction, sexual health and other initiatives

Dorset Healthcare is looking for enthusiastic, motivated, Project Worker’s to work within the Sexual Health Services.
The successful candidate will provide an outreach service in the Bournemouth locality to women who sell sex from flats, brothels and escort agencies. They will be offering sexual health, harm minimisation advice/information and support to women who work in the sex industry, including those who possibly misuse substances and/or alcohol. They will also provide support by working towards exit strategies focussing on drug treatment, housing, employment, training or re-entering education.
For this stimulating and varied role, you will have excellent communication skills, whilst excelling in partnership working and prioritisation. You will have a flexible and adaptable approach, being able to work autonomously with the ability to plan your workload and work under pressure to meet service user needs.
