Job description
We are looking for a Doggy Day Care Assistant to join our successful company based in Hemel Hempstead. This is a self-employed part-time role with working hours 10.30am to 2.30pm three days per week. This is a very rewarding and varied job for the right person and full training will be given for the right person. This is not a dog walking role.
You must love and understand dogs as the position requires someone who can be confident with all breeds. This role requires that you can demonstrate a great deal of maturity, quick thinking and the ability to handle responsibility.
You will be looking after the dogs by feeding, cleaning and interacting with them between their walks. It will be your responsibility to make sure the working area is always kept clean, sanitised and tidy so you will need to be highly organised. There may also be some administration work involved in this role.
It is essential that you are strong, fit and active. We need someone who can be flexible and is able to show initiative and common sense but can also take direction and follow policies that are outlined. The safety and welfare of our dogs must always be your priority.
Requirements
- You should have a passion for dogs and their welfare
- You must live in or close to Hemel Hempstead (within 15 minutes' commute)
- Previous experience working with dogs or within an animal environment is advantageous for your application
- Animal related qualifications are highly desirable
- You must be confident and strong enough to handle dogs of all sizes
- You must be highly organised, quick thinking in difficult situations and self-motivated
