Job description
If you have a passion for working with dogs and are trying to build your experience in the animal welfare sector or gain work experience, then we have the ideal position for you. We are looking for someone part-time to do 3x 4-hour shifts per week with our team at our beautiful country location in Snodland.
We run a group off-lead exercise (daycare) centre for dogs Monday to Friday and are seeking someone to support the team by looking after the dogs alongside our other staff between the hours of 10am to 2pm on a Monday, Thursday and Friday each week.
You will be a contractor (self-employed) therefore your tax responsibilities are your own to manage. You will be paid a fixed amount of £50 for a 4-hour shift (currently 10am to 2pm)
This role would ideally suit someone that loves the outdoors, isn’t afraid of the weather and loves playing and spending time with all types of breeds of dogs. If you are looking for a career in pet health or management this could be a great way to gain experience whilst having a fun time with all of our four legged customers. It may also suit you if you are just looking to get out of the house for a few hours during the week, get some exercise and meet new people (and dogs!).
Although we have a cabin on site, this is an outdoors role and therefore you should be fit, healthy and prepared for all weathers.
This is a permanent contractor role therefore providing an amazing and consistent experience for our clients and staff is really important so you need only apply if you know you can commit for no less than a year.
Your duties would include:
- Supporting the team with entertaining and looking after the dogs
- Helping keep the site clean and tidy
- Helping the team transition the dogs in and out of the centre
- Helping clean, wash and dry the dogs ready to go home
- Helping take photos of the dogs each day
Skills required:
- Having owned or cared for dogs previously
- Being confident with dogs of all sizes and breeds and not being afraid to get involved
- Holding a pet management or care certificate/qualification (not essential)
- Good time management skills
- Reliable and dependable
- Being fit and healthy
- Good ball throwing arm!
The team that work for us love their job and we pride ourselves on creating an environment that is both efficient and fun - for everyone whether you have two legs or four!
Phone based interviews will be held followed by a a face-to-face interview.
Part-time hours: 12 per week
