Are you a dog lover with a passion and talent for leadership? Our dog rescue is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Team Leader to join us.
We're a vibrant, growing organisation dedicated to saving the lives of dogs in need, and we're searching for a unique and confident individual ready to become team leader and embark on a fast-track learning adventure in dog training and rehabilitation.
No prior professional experience with dogs? No problem! We're looking for someone who's eager, willing, and passionate about diving headfirst into dog behaviour and care. All we ask is that you're committed to be all in and are naturally instinctive with dogs.

You'll need to be:

Your responsibilities will be:
- Lead a team of staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the rescue and the day-to-day at the kennels.
- Develop and maintain a positive working environment for staff members, promoting teamwork and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Participate in the recruitment process and oversee the onboarding, and performance management of team members, working closely with the directors.
- Support and help implement training programs for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in dog training and rehabilitation, working with our head trainer.
- Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure that dogs are receiving the highest quality care.
- Communicate effectively and confidently with team members and the public, both in person and on camera for social media.
- Be responsible for the Health and Safety compliance of the operation together with the directors.
- Ensure that all rescue activities are carried out in compliance with the organisation’s operating rules.
- Maintain accurate records of all dogs in the rescue, including their medical history, behaviour assessments, and adoption status.
- Take the lead on vet checks for the more behaviourally challenged dogs.
- Report daily to the directors.

Immediate opening for a permanent position with a 4 months probation.

Love Underdogs is a small organisation rehoming around 50 dogs a year, many of whom are considered less adoptable due to medical conditions, age or behaviour.
We pride ourselves in the quality of the care we give our dogs and the professionalism and support we show to our adoptive families for the lifetime of our dogs.

To apply for this role, applicants must provide a full CV with their application together with references if successful. The interviews are in two parts: A video interview followed by a 2 hours practical at the kennels for applicants with a successful interview.
The rota is over 2 weeks:
One week you would be doing the first one and the following week, the second:
Week 1: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri
Week 2: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Sat, Sun
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000.00 per year
