JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Pack Buddies Family. The purpose of this role is to provide an enriching and exceptional experience for dogs, allowing them to be stimulated and happy. We provide a complete, interactive doggy daycare service where we collect our buddies in the morning and drop them off safely at home after a day of fun, training and socialisation. Part of the Doggy Daycare Assistant role is to drive the doggy taxi to collect and drop off our dogs, interacting with clients and providing them updates about their dog’s adventures. We are seeking to employ a dog daycare assistant who is passionate about dogs, understands dog behaviour and welfare and is willing to work hard to ensure we provide the best doggy daycare experience to our clients and dogs. This role is a very fast pace and physical job, it is not a job where you cuddle puppies all day!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. This role is to ensure the safety and welfare of all dogs in our care. This includes supervising dogs during socialisation, interacting with the dogs in a positive way, providing stimulation in the form of positive reinforcement dog training and developing activities for the dogs to enjoy (e.g. agility, group training and treasure hunts).
2. Safely transporting the dogs to and from the daycare facility in the doggy taxi.
3. Building relationships with clients during collection and drop-off, including learning their dog’s home routine, providing updates to the clients and understanding their needs.
4. Daily set-up, close-down and cleaning procedures. This involves setting up shades, paddling pools, water bowls etc. In addition, cleaning of the van, indoor areas, dog water bowls etc.
5. Photography and social media. We share our dog’s experiences with their owners, so to do this we need staff to take photographs and videos of the dogs and create engaging social media content.
