Documentary Researcher & Interviewer Bristol, England

TinyTrax
Full Time Bristol, England 8 - 10 GBP HOURLY Today
Job description

We make an amazing, cool, small children's powerchair called TinyTrax here in Bristol (www.tinytrax.com) that charities buy for children all over the UK.

We are looking for keen, self-motivated, enthusiastic individuals who have an interest in documentary filmmaking and would like to help us tell an important story about disabled children in the UK. We need researchers and potentially interviewers, who are willing to look at various aspects of the children's mobility sector and build up a clear picture of how it works. This is a short-term, flexible project that would suit people wanting to gain some experience, or put to practical use, the knowledge they have (photography/filming/sound/editing/graphics) to help with the project. This role will be paid when working at our premises, but will involve additional work (on a voluntary basis) that can be done at home.

All this research will feed into the making of a short documentary about the disabled children's sector in the UK. We are hoping to conduct a series of interviews with key individuals who head up various parts of the sector including the NHS wheelchair services, charities that operate in the sector as well as professionals such as Occupational Therapists and Physios.

The concept is to gain an insight into what brought them into the sector, what they want to achieve, what motivates them, and some of the challenges they face. Most importantly, we also want to find out the experiences of the families and children who engage with the sector in order to access their care. Finding what their challenges have been, and what works, as well as what doess't work and they feel improvements could be made.

From all this information we will be able to clearly show how the sector works, and provide a useful guide to parents new to it, so they can navigate it in order to get the best outcome for their child.
