Document Controller – 6 Month Contract – Central London
I am currently representing a company who specialise in high-quality public realm and landscaping schemes, as well as highway and civil engineering projects. This company are looking for a Document Controller to come and work on multiple projects within the Central London Area. Working across both public and private sectors, their integrated approach enables us to be agile and flexible to adapt and deliver anything from smaller-scale developments to multi-million-pound projects.
The Role
- To assist in the implementation of the document control system and management during the projects life cycle:
- QA check all incoming information on the system and process, accordingly, ensuring that all the drawings can be read and printed correctly and all aspects of the Drawings/Documents are in accordance with Company Systems.
- Ensure all drawings and documents are voted and accessible to the system within the required timeframe (2 working days in average) and associated to a document transmittal.
- Liaise with Consultants, Clients, Sub-Contractors, Designers, and the Project Team for minor document control matters, and provide support and guidance on the correct use of the system, as required.
- Issue invitations to new users, including assigning them to the correct security groups, updating the folders structures, custom fields and the workflows if required.
- Monitor and control with guidance from the project lead/ design manager via the approval responsibility matrix the roles and responsibilities on 4projects to ensure security of confidential material is not breached
- You will be responsible for the timely, accurate and efficient preparation of managing documents including the numbering, sorting, filing, storing and retrieval of electronic documentation.
Requirements
- Either 4Projects or Asite experience
- Good all round Document Control knowledge
- Capacity to work effectively within a team environment.
- Organisational skills (prioritising tasks, respecting deadlines, methodical work)
- Problem solving and decision making
