Company Biography
Formed in 1982, Alpha Construction Ltd is a Civil Engineering and Building Contractor operating from a midlands base in Hilton, Derbyshire with projects located throughout England and Wales.
Offering a Design and Construct, or construct only service and with an enviable client base in electricity transmission and distribution, battery storage, anaerobic digestion energy production, water treatment, industrial and commercial building, a departmental administrator position is offered due to retirement.
The Role
This full-time permanent position is offered (potential for flexible working) within the construction / operations department. The role is an office-based role, given the nature of the duties, and would suit an experienced administration clerk with good IT, communication and organisational skills, preferably from within the construction industry sector to work within a small friendly team environment. Knowledge and prior experience in document control would be beneficial but not essential.
A competitive renumeration package is offered including contributory pension scheme, life assurance, private healthcare, 34 days holiday (incl’ bank holidays) per annum, full time 37.5 hours per week and profit share scheme.
Duties/ responsibilities;
- Set up project files / folders (hard format) from a standard template
- Set up site start up packs (hard and soft formats) from a standard template
- Supporting the project team throughout the life of the project
- Create and update drawing / document registers
- Plotting and circulating drawings and documents as directed.
- Filing of weekly site paperwork (soft copies) for each project
- Ongoing circulation of information to sites as required
- Administer the departmental archive
- Assist in the production of client O&M / Handover folders (soft and hard copies)
- Provide occasional support to reception desk / switchboard
- Monitor the departmental email account and circulate any received emails as appropriate
