Job description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for three Doctors Support Workers to cover the MAPS wards.
The post holders will be working alongside nursing staff (not medical staff) and work as a member of the care team with direction and supervision from Registered Nurses or Midwives / Healthcare Professionals and participate in the provision of direct and indirect patient care activities.
Post holders will assist the Registered Practitioner in the provision of technical skills for patients and undertake assigned tasks, complying with any directions and /or supervision requirements specified within the level of proficiency.
- At all times treat patients, visitors and colleagues with dignity and respect, exercising discretion and maintaining confidentiality.
- Ensure that no action or omission on your part is detrimental to the condition, safety, well-being, and interest of the patients
- Work in a collaborative and co-operative manner with other members of the care team and observe operational policy and procedure requirements.
- Carry out duties in a courteous, sympathetic and professional manner at all times.
- Act at all times with regard to religious and cultural customs and beliefs.
- Accurately report to the Registered Practitioner any aspects of care delivered e.g. any difficulties or problems experienced.
The Medicine and Pharmacy Services (MAPS) Care Group is comprised of 4 clinical directorates:
- Diabetes and Endocrinology
- Gastroenterology and Hepatology
- Respiratory Medicine
- Pharmacy Services
