About the role

Waitrose & Partners is seeking a passionate and skilled Distribution Support Manager to join its Supply Chain team and take charge of its People Function. As the Distribution Support Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the People Function on a large distribution site, based at Bracknell RDC, where over 1,000 Partners and Agency Colleagues operate. The role will involve working with a diverse group of individuals and will require you to foster an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.

In this role you will have the opportunity to lead and drive various initiatives, including Diversity & Inclusion, Talent & Progression for Partners at all Levels, and Partner Engagement & Communication. You will be an integral part of the Waitrose & Partners Team and play a crucial role in ensuring that our Partners are supported, valued and empowered to excel in their roles. This role can be flexed as a hybrid role, but you will need to be based at Bracknell at least 3 days a week. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Creating and delivering the People Strategy for the site business plan

  • Planning and implementing Partner focussed projects, related to DE&I, health and wellbeing, talent progression and development, enhanced Partner engagement

  • Driving increased customer value through effective team leadership and collaboration

  • Networking across the Partnership Supply Chain to share and adopt best practice

  • Leading development programmes to support succession planning and talent management

  • Delivering Partnership and local CSR initiatives

You’ll need the following skills:

  • Proven experience in leading teams and driving successful outcomes

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to develop and implement effective people strategies

  • Experience in strategic planning and implementation

  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Passion for delivering outstanding customer service
