Job description
The Quesnel Youth Soccer Association is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the combined position of Technical Director & Facility Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Association including the management of the Outdoor fields and the Indoor Sports Field Complex but with a focus on the development and on-field delivery of player programming and the club's coach development and education initiative. This position requires a strong soccer background, a passion for coaching and strong interpersonal skills.
The City of Quesnel and area has a population of approximately 25,000 people and is located 650 kilometers north of Vancouver providing modern amenities, outstanding recreational opportunities and affordable housing.
We are a small club with outstanding facilities and upside where you will have the opportunity to make a big impact. Our amazing indoor facility houses a multitude of sports throughout the year. The Centre features two playing surfaces (80' x 180'), which are suitable for primarily for soccer but also football, baseball, lacrosse, rugby, field hockey and more. There are significant opportunities for increased programing!
Technical
- Develop plans and programs in line with the club’s vision, mission, and goals.
- Lead club’s coach development and education initiative.
- On-field during sessions actively coaching, as a coach mentor or just a visible figurehead within the club depending on the program.
- Be the driving force behind the club’s on-field direction and get more kids playing soccer.
Administration
- Develop and maintain an effective staff organization which delivers service, programs, and information beneficial to the membership.
- Hire, train, supervise and evaluate employees in accordance with QYSA objectives, policies, approved budgets, and BC Employment Standards
- Establish and implement a maintenance program for the facility including day to day requirements as well as long term maintenance planning items.
- Implement a risk management program to ensure that all facilities and equipment operation and activities by the Association are maintained in good working order and are safe.
- Oversee association finances
- Develop and implement a marketing strategy to increase participation in QYSA programs.
- Assist with league scheduling, coordination of officials, planning of special events and camps.
- Assist in the development and implementation of priority plans, performance measurements, management controls, and critical success factors, in conjunction with the Board of Directors.
- Manage equipment and uniform inventory and ordering
Governance
- Track and understand the requirements of BC Soccer/Canada Soccer in order to ensure soccer programming is meeting the appropriate club licensing standards.
- Develop and provide appropriate policy recommendations for consideration by the Board.
- Review approved plans and budgets as part of the annual planning and budgeting cycle and present recommendations to the Board of Directors and /or the appropriate committee.
- Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangement with community groups, funders, various levels of government and other organizations to help achieve the goals of QYSA.
- Oversee the operation of fields and facilities in accordance with the License of Occupation with the City of Quesnel ensuring compliance with all appropriate legislation of local by-laws
- Providing feedback to the Board of Directors on issues, opportunities, and priorities.
- Report and be accountable to the Board and present a report at all board meetings.
Perform other duties as described in writing from time to time by the Board of Directors.
Qualifications:
- Minimum coaching C License – B License preferred
- Experience in a similar role in youth soccer in BC/Canada
The successful applicant will be required to be available for evenings and weekends.

Salary: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
