Job Purpose:

Be our expert market analyst for our key nitrogen products

Provide timely, relevant and insightful market analysis, insights and recommendations to the business to help optimize our sales strategies, maximize selling prices and support investment decisions.

Lead the commercial analysis, product management and reporting functions of the commercial team.

Reports to: Chief Commercial Officer

Responsibilities/Key Tasks:

Market Analysis

• Research and keep up to date with industry, market and pricing trends and conditions for our key nitrogen products, both domestic and globally.
• Supply strategic market advice for our products and customer markets/products to our sales team to support sales activities.
• Understand broader economic trends and issues that will impact our products and customer markets.
• Curate our market subscriptions and sales team market intelligence and consolidate relevant market information, analysis, insights, and recommendations into regular communications.
• Maintain import statistics, market demand and supply forecasts and plant capacity listings in the region.
• Maintain knowledge of activities of competitors and suppliers.
• Develop market models to support pricing decisions and sales strategy.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of customer markets and their product requirements.
• Provide market commentary and analysis to support management reporting (presentations, monthly report, board reports, external presentations).
• Provide timely, ad hoc market analysis for new product development initiatives or projects.

Leadership

• Lead and develop the Commercial Analyst and provide support to ensure success.
• Contribute to the business to ensure it has a strong safety culture, risks of injury are minimized, and agreed safety targets are met and maintained.
• Contribute to the team culture encouraging high performance, results focus, professionalism, teamwork, co-operation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors (or higher) degree in Engineering, Science, Finance or a Business-related discipline.
• 10-years’ experience (minimum) within industrial manufacturing, oil and gas, mining, chemical/fertilizer manufacturing industry providing strategic market advice to support business decisions.
• Well-developed communication, interpersonal skills and relationship building skills.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Ability to interpret complex market information across multiple geographies and communicate key issues/implications arising from it
• Sound planning and project management skills.
• Understanding of continuous improvement philosophy.
