Purpose Summary
Partnering closely with and reporting to the CMO and with a dotted line into our CPO, you will own the Product Marketing Strategy for Causeway Technologies.
Your Responsibilities
Product Marketing Strategy
- Synthesize market, product, and competitive inputs into a strategy to drive revenue for the business.
- Partner with the CPO and Product Teams to ensure a consistent cadence of information flow regarding products (current and future) to ensure the broader business is educated and prepared.
- Partner with our Product and Engineering teams to create an agreed launch process, allocating clear hand-offs and areas of responsibility between Product Management and Product Marketing.
- Where necessary translate conversations with Causeway’s Product team into actionable insights for the CRO teams.
- Strive to understand intimately the details and nuances of Causeway’s market and the market’s potential future value.
- Form a close relationship with the Causeway Product team, to ensure a thorough understanding of product plans/roadmaps/objectives and any potential barriers to progress.
- Partner with the broader marketing organisation to pinpoint cross-sell and upsell opportunities based on customer profile and current buyer behaviour.
- Support the CRO team (of which product marketing is a part) with competitive insights which can be formed into actionable messaging.
- Collaborate with sales leadership on sales enablement activities, e.g. the creation of sales tools, communication, and sales training.
- Use Causeway’s various buyer personas and their pain points to steer creative decision making.
- Help inform the CCO (Chief Commercial Officer) with pricing strategy for the Causeway products/platform.
- Form relationships with key customers in order to validate strategic decisions.
- Partner with our digital marketing team to ensure that web properties and materials are current and correct with regard to messaging.
- Create content in collaboration with the broader marketing team and support with creative input across all marketing mediums (webinars, blogs, web content, reports, etc).
- Create materials to support internal understanding of our new product/platform messaging.
Technology/Platform Messaging and Positioning
An exercise to reimagine Causeway is in flow and the technical/product layers of that hierarchy will be largely driven by this role.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading the product/platform tier of Causeway’s in-progress brand and business repositioning.
- Creating a hierarchy of messaging aligned to our top tier corporate mission, which makes sense of all products within the family and gives clear, simple/understandable value driven descriptors for each so that their place and position is clearly defined. Simplicity is key.
- Creating a launch plan for our platform with customer journey at its heart.
- Create customer-centric messaging with clear and scalable benefit statements which will resonate with our target customers.
- Partner with our COO to ensure that messaging and positioning is understood by and can be applied to customer and prospect conversations.Partner with our CCO to ensure that the product/platform messaging is scalable and adaptable for any acquired businesses.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience in the creation of messaging platforms for software solutions, ideally leading a product marketing project to support product consolidation.
- Proven product marketing team leadership, experience in process implementation and strong project management.
- Experience in implementing product marketing processes and committing to measuring product marketing outputs against agreed expectations (deliverables).
- Demonstrable and extensive B2B product marketing experience working in a fast-paced, results-oriented technology business (ideally across all sales segments – Enterprise, MM and SMB).
- Strong commercial acumen, including the ability to analyse market potential and assess competitive strengths/weaknesses.
- Experience in the use of a CRM/salesforce.com (to influence customer insight) to identify segment opportunities.
- Knowledge of marketing principles and a strong understanding of current trends, best practice, strategies, legislation and industry standards relating to the discipline of product marketing.
- High competency with MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of the UK construction industry would be advantageous, but non-essential.
- Degree level, diploma or equivalent education preferred.
