We have an amazing opportunity for an Operations Director to join our team of compassionate, inclusive and committed people working together to provide excellence of care. For this role you will need to be a driver with ability to travel and hold a UK professional health qualification which requires you to be HCPC, NMC or Social Worker Registered with sound knowledge and experience of operational service issues within complex needs with the ability to operate in a complex and changing service.
Reporting to the Managing Director and working with key partner and commissioners, as Operations Director you will lead the South Region service to ensure that service users receive the excellent care that meets their diverse needs and achieves the best possible clinical outcome. Our aim is to improve people’s lives by providing the best quality care tailored for each individual’s needs. Our multi-award-winning specialist care services supports people with complex conditions including Acquired Brain Injury, Acquired Spinal Injury, Neurological conditions, Learning Disabilities and Respiratory and Ventilation conditions.
The Operations Director will be responsible for the leadership, planning and delivery of healthcare services within South Region - as a member of the senior management team, you will contribute to the shaping of the strategic direction for the services and ensure its implementation within defined timescales, commercial and financial budgets.
What you'll be working:
- Working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30 plus being part of the Regional On Call Rota
- This is a remote role with the expectation that you will visit services 4 out of 5 days
What you'll be doing:
- Leading and supporting a team of dedicated Service Managers who are committed to providing the best care possible
- Responsibility for the management of service managers in the region this includes all quality, people and financial targets for allocated sites within the region
- Jointly working with the quality team, business development managers and HR business partners to achieve these targets
- Working with the HR Business Partner and quality team to embed Just Culture so that the highest standards of safety, quality, morale and retention are achieved
- Responsibility for site converting referrals, overseeing site managers engaging with referrers and commissioners as required
- Ensure service leaders have a good understanding of their financial KPIs and their budgets, the expectations around regulatory compliance and meeting contractual and commissioner requirements
- Deal with any complaints with in a timely fashion in the right tone, ensuring that incidents are reported and investigated at the appropriate level and submitted in accordance with national expectations for NHSE/I requirements and in accordance with other commissioners and regulators
- Adherence to all Group policies and procedures and ensuring that all colleagues in the service are aware of and understand company policies
What you'll have:
- Approved post graduate clinical qualification is essential
- Previous managerial experience within the care sector is essential
- Experience of working collaboratively with regulatory bodies (i.e. CQC, CIS)
- Passion for providing high quality care
- Ability model a Just Culture, providing a learning environment facilitating safer, high quality care
- Good communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Seasoned leader with operational and financial planning experience
- Good understanding of national context and agenda as well local issues
- Able to performance manage fairly and to be transparent with individuals about areas for improvement
