A role in security at Leeds Beckett is not just any security role. We are offering a career, rather than just a job, with the chance to progress and develop whilst learning new skills. We have a fantastic opportunity for confident individuals to join our teams working across our two university campuses, where no two days are the same. You will undertake a wide range of duties in this broad role, with the opportunity to own an array of responsibilities, including: Responding to alarms Securing our buildings Ensuring the safety of our staff, students and visitors Monitoring CCTV Campus patrols First aid response Crowd management at our events, like graduation and open days and special school events Bag checks and supporting drinks receptions Emergency response Providing a first-class customer service We would like you to have an SIA door supervisor’s license, but if you don’t, we can provide this for you, you just need to be willing to undertake the training to obtain one (we will pay for this and then claim the cost back from your salary over a 3 month period). You also undertake First Aid at Work training as well as a huge range of other benefits, including: - Competitive salary (£21,134 to £23,662) plus 12.5% shift pay and additional nights payments. - 26 days annual leave rising to 29 days over three years - A generous pension scheme - Discounted gym membership, including our swimming pool - Sick pay from day one - Maternity, paternity, shared parental leave and adoption packages - Shopping discounts - On the job training - Discounted study fees if you decide to study with us This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check. We also ask that you have a full UK driving license with no more than six points. Our ideal candidates will have excellent customer service skills and be competent using email and learning to use computer software, with a good level of fitness. We offer a 30-week rolling shift pattern of 7 ¾ hour shifts, with no more than two weeks of nights in that time.
