Director of Student Mental Health and Wellbeing

Job description

At Leeds Trinity University, we find ourselves in an exciting period of growth and transformation. From a set of strong foundations, we are on an inspiring journey in relation to academic development, employability, careers, and the positive contribution we can make in our region, the country and wider world. Underpinning this is our approach to supporting our students in their educational journey with a range of mental health and wellbeing services.

As the Director of Student Mental Health and Wellbeing you will lead University services to enable students to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially throughout their educational journey.

Through your strategic leadership of a multidisciplinary team, you will develop a sector-leading and comprehensive plan for student mental health and wellbeing initiatives which align to our mission and vision, support us in our Mental Health Charter work and ensure that we meet student, sector and regulatory requirements.

You will bring:

  • Leadership experience within a healthcare, higher education, or counselling setting, with a focus on mental health and / or broader wellbeing
  • Demonstrable success at implementation of strategy and policy
  • Expertise in student mental health and / or broader wellbeing issues
  • Awareness of regulatory requirements
  • A successful track record of leading and managing change in a complex environment and embracing new ways of working.

You will primarily be based at our Horsforth Campus but will also spend time at our City campus when this opens in 2024-25 and, through our agile working framework, will also spend time working remotely, which will be discussed further at interview.

If you would like to discuss this role in more detail before you apply, we encourage you to reach out to our Pro-Vice Chancellor for Education and Experience [email protected]. If you have any queries about the application process, please email [email protected] or call 0113 283 7130.

This advert will close on 25th August 2023 however we may close the advert early if we receive a suitable number of applications. So, if you’re interested in this opportunity and an exciting career with Leeds Trinity University, apply now.
