Job Description Summary
We have a fantastic new opportunity to lead Enterprise Product within our Lloyds Bank Cardnet (Cardnet) Merchant Services (MS) team. Reporting to the Managing Director of MS (Melinda Roylett), you will be accountable for building and leading this new team and working with the MS Leadership Team to define and develop the product and proposition strategy for our Enterprise Segment ($50m turnover and above) , against a backdrop of a progressive regulatory change and a fiercely competitive and highly innovative marketplace.Merchant Services provides a diverse range of products and services to Enterprises that want to accept payments via a mixture of channels including face to face, online and over the phone. Enterprise Customers are increasingly demanding and expect a significant level of sophistication in how their payment needs are considered. Merchant Services has received significant investment under the Group Strategic Review demonstrating its strategic importance to the Group.
Ultimately, this new role will be pivotal in helping to shape the MS strategy and achieve the growth aspirations within the overall Cardnet Business.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead a successful and multifaceted team through strategic change and growth in a fast-paced industry. You will provide regular business updates to the MD and overall execution of the agreed strategy.
- Own the future product and proposition development for Enterprise clients in an increasingly competitive and innovative marketplace. Key to this will be;
o Supporting the development, with the MS leadership team, the overall future strategy for MS
o Build strong relationships with key and diverse stakeholders (including external suppliers and customers) to manage their multiple needs and to ensure the delivery of market leading customer solutions
o Building client insight for the MS Product set to inform and support investment plans
o Explore partnership / M&A activity to enhance the proposition
o Lead MS’s participation in the development and delivery of the wider Enterprise strategic plan
o Represent the Bank on relevant UK and International industry payment forums to build our profile and identify business opportunities
o As a member of the MS Leadership team, you will be responsible for upholding the LBG values and champion an innovation-led culture across the wider MS team
o Drive diversity and inclusion agenda and strong talent and performance management approach.
Key capabilities, knowledge, skills, and experience:
- Consistent track record of leadership and delivery demonstrating a clear focus on meeting agreed business targets, priorities, and objectives – plus the ability to deliver & commercialise investment projects. You will be an inspiring leader that others will follow, communicating a range of the more complex issues and able to convey an inspiring vision and purpose
- Large scale change – Demonstrable experience in leading client focused, transformational change across a large organisation and sophisticated partner matrix. Delivering both business and client value drivers to successfully meet important metrics across both performance and budget targets
- Business strategy and model – Proven ability to shape strategy and continuously improve the business through the generation of new and practical ways of operating to solve problems and gain competitive advantage
- Customer and Specialist Knowledge – A strong understanding and technical knowledge of the merchant services industry, including the respective products, services and operational processes that exist within the merchant services eco system
- Stakeholder Management – Exceptional stakeholder management skills and experience of dealing with senior internal and external stakeholders. The ability to manage customer relationships in order to understand their needs and translate complex business requirements into a clear product and propostionplan, to successfully meet customer needs
- Risk Management & Control – Able to identify, assess, supervise, control, and mitigate risks across the business and ensure effective governance, oversight, and controls in the business
- Regulatory – awareness & understanding of the regulatory framework & requirements in which the business operates (FCA, LSB, FOS, EU, and international considerations) and the Legal framework and entity structure of jurisdictions in which the role resides
- Leading a Team – a strong leader responsible for communicating a range of the more complex issues using various forms of communication and able to convey an inspiring vision and purpose within the business area and as appropriate across other business units. Able to implement and maintain an appropriate organization structure with appropriate use of resources in response to changing demands
- Collaboration - a strong team player, willing and able to take the broader view for the benefit of the wider team, considering the needs of LBG.
