Job Description
In collaboration with the VP of Marketing and Communications and senior health system leaders, the Director of Marketing leads the development of the organization’s marketing plan, and marketing strategies to build and protect El Camino Health’s brand and support growth. The Director of Marketing takes customer and market insights to lead efforts to increase recognition, understanding, knowledge, and demand of El Camino Health’ services with employers, consumers, physicians, associations, and other healthcare providers, throughout the markets we serve. She/he leads enterprise-wide efforts to better understand consumer needs for healthcare services, ensure consistent messaging and branding across touchpoints, and deliver effective marketing campaigns. Included in the responsibilities are oversight of the following: development and optimization of patient acquisition and retention campaigns, brand marketing, content and digital marketing, website content, and sponsorships and events.
The Director of Marketing serves as a lead interface with service lines and departments, physicians, health system leadership and affiliated groups. She/he ensures that clear communication and effective collaboration between Marketing and other departments occurs. This role requires a consumer and physician-centric approach and is reliant on strong influencing skills as well as positive internal and external relationships for success.
The Director of Marketing manages marketing performance data and analytics to support enterprise-wide key metrics, and develops key insights and recommendations on how to improve marketing performance.
She/he manages marketing staff and multiple outside vendors and partners. Responsible for managing to budget.
Essential Duties:
  • Reporting to the VP of Marketing and Communications, the Director of Marketing works with leaders to translate enterprise growth strategies and goals into marketing plans for lines of business, service lines, and key customer segments. Includes oversight and development of target marketing strategies for high-opportunity consumer segments, key stakeholders, as well as partnership marketing.
  • Collaborates and communicates with operational business leaders, physician leaders, business development, strategy, finance, clinical support and many other disciplines.
  • Develop and manages masterbrand and key services advertising to support brand and revenue goals.
  • Develop enterprise-wide sponsorships strategy to grow brand, support community organizations, and tie to health-related causes connected to enterprise goals. Manage evaluation, business negotiations and activations of sponsorship properties including turn-key management of on-site and offsite events.
  • Utilizes primary and secondary market research, including segmentation, analytics, to cultivate key brand, customer and market insights to support development of new programs/services, customer experiences, and marketing campaigns. Uses A/B and multivariate testing of potential new programs and ideas.
  • Plans, executes and manages end-to-end integrated marketing campaigns and promotes ongoing process improvements to streamline efforts. Knowledgeable about CRM, email marketing, innovations in digital marketing and social media. Manage a matrixed team of internal and external resources including designers, writers, videographers, digital marketing partners, events experts, etc. to launch high-impact campaigns.
  • Leads content marketing strategy through development of compelling, audience-targeted content deployed across multiple channels to engage various audiences with El Camino Health brand stories (e.g., website, emails, social media, blogs, etc.). Cultivates data and insights to inform & shape multichannel digital strategies.
  • Collaborates with Director of Marketing Operations and Technology and digital team on website and martech platform to launch and optimize marketing campaigns and improve customer experience. Utilizes marketing automation analytics dashboards to inform marketing strategies and optimize campaigns.
  • Actively manages brand standards to ensure marketing activation, messaging, and customer experiences are on-brand.
  • Manage creative services team members and external partners to produce on-brand marketing communications materials and brand assets.
  • Manages marketing performance measurement. Reports metrics and outcomes of marketing efforts through executive dashboards and periodic reports with actionable insights.
  • Works with Director of Strategic Communications, Director of Marketing Operations and Technology, Human Resources, Patient Experience, and other appropriate departments to ensure the El Camino Health brand promise is consistently activated through external and internal channels, tactics, and events such as all-employee meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, in marketing, business, or communications. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in marketing and strategic marketing.
  • Minimum of 10 years management experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare or services marketing with a track record of success in marketing hospital/health system or healthcare products and services preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing best practices
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal communication, active listening and political acumen skills and advanced skills to represent the team and department with other institutional and/or external constituencies
  • Experience in development of direct-to-consumer and business-to-business marketing plans and tactics such as advertising, relationship marketing, collateral, website, creative campaign development, digital marketing and social media, ethnic marketing, special events and tracking/measurement to report performance of impact of marketing initiatives.
  • Strong analytic skills with particular emphasis on digital marketing, campaign optimization, customer data analytics and CRM experience required.
  • Experience in setting and managing Google Ad products and Social Media platforms
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with a drive towards execution and delivering results
  • Exceptional project management & organization skills with the ability to balance multiple projects
  • Superior strategic planning, critical thinking and communication and business writing skills
  • Best in class team building and engagement skills
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends
Salary Range:
76.61 - 114.91 USD Hourly
