We have an exciting opening for a Brand Marketing Director to join the Brand team. We are a young high-growth business, and this is a unique opportunity to shape some of the fastest growing and fun brands in the kids’ entertainment space.
The Brand Marketing Director will be responsible for driving affinity and growth of a plethora of brands globally, leading the annual brand plans from conception to execution. Results will be measured in audience and revenue growth.The Brand Marketing Director will work with Creative and Production to inform creative development, our Research and Insights partners to lead audience insights, set the direction for the optimal exposure through existing marketing and distribution channels and work with brand partners to build a holistic brand experience across partner and Moonbug channels.
This role is a great opportunity for someone with a business, marketing or similar degree and previous experience in a brand role, ideally within an entertainment and/or kids-focused business, to work in one of the most exciting kids’ entertainment companies.
The ideal candidate is strategic, commercial, with an eye for creative and a strong grip on the digital media landscape - ideally with prior experience in working with Creative and Production teams within entertainment (kids experience is a plus). Also critical to the role is a deep understanding of how successful brand management can drive commercial success and long-term health of the brand. You will be working collaboratively with the Creative and Production, Channel Management, Licensing & Merchandise, Comms, Brand Partnerships and Distribution teams to drive global brand awareness and affinity for the brand portfolio.
The successful candidate must be autonomous and strategic, while creative and self-motivated; have strong commercial acumen, attention to detail and great communication skills. The candidate must also be proactive, process-driven, meet committed deadlines and great at working collaboratively in a fast-paced, international environment.
The Job:
- Collaborate with GM on brand & IP development; set strategy and develop global end-to-end brand plans
- Define success against brand and commercial objectives, ensuing key metrics are in place to monitor brand health.
- Accountable for delivering global campaigns in collaboration with cross functional teams that deliver on KPIs and ROI with clear measurement frameworks in place
- Ensure strong effective brand marketing relationships with key global partners across Distribution, Licensing and Brand Partnerships. Lead the team to put in place best in class B2B marketing assets and plans to support delivery of commercial goals.
- Deliver brand guardianship that supports long term growth, ensuring appropriate guidelines, guard rails and sign-off processes are in place
- Lead the relationship with data teams to evolve and grow our audiences smartly. Be the expert on the brands’ target audience and consumer, and lead consumer insights plans
- Align with GM and Senior Creative Exec to oversee brands from the development and production stage through to final delivery, ensuring creative is aligned to brand and company objectives
- Review and steer creative development (character development, world building, springboards) to ensure creative is on brand
- Develop and implement strategies to drive affinity for brands, consumption of our content and drive purchase intent for products
- Establish relevant KPIs for brand activation plans. Track department performance against KPIs to identify opportunities to improve performance, increase brand scale, and enhance efficiency of spend
- Oversee creation of brand assets including trailers, sales materials, style guides and other brand materials
- Support licensing and distribution partners to develop and execute strategies across their business units and channels
- Responsible for managing brand budget
- Responsible for leading and developing the team
Requirements
Requirements:
- You have 8+ years’ experience in a brand marketing role or brand strategy role
- Ability to think strategically and act decisively and see projects through from inception to completion, problem solve, and multi-task under time constraints and cross divisional pressures
- An inspirational leader, driving growth and developing the team through collaboration, creativity, and empowering others
- An eye for creative development and experience in collaborating with Creative and Production teams
- Able to interpret data and insights and leverage them in the creative process. Research and analytics experience a plus.
- Strong financial and commercial skills with demonstrable commercial acumen
- Ability to effectively influence and persuade at all levels; and to demonstrate a collaborative approach in order to manage a complex matrix of stakeholders.
- Holistic thinking – you understand brands, creative and media, with a firm grip on kids culture to further develop brands for the next generation
- Analytical mindset with an understanding of acquisition funnel, performance marketing KPIs and profitability levers
- Able to prioritise, multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Hungry and curious - constantly bringing new insights, ideas and opportunities to the brand
- Strategic self-starter with ability to navigate cross-functional teams. Must have a proven track record of successfully driving high impact projects from start to finish
- Bachelor’s degree required. Masters/MBA degree preferred
- Fluent English, essential; other languages beneficial
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Comfortable with Google Apps and project management tools (like Slack) with excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience with family entertainment a benefit
