Job Description


As a leading 3rd Party Logistics Provider, Information Technology is a critical part of our strategy and operation. Due to team expansion we are searching for a Business Analyst Team lead to manage a team of 3-4 Business Analysts in multiple locations.

As a Business Analyst Team Lead you will mentor and provide leadership, encouraging development for existing team members and onboarding new members. In addition you will act as an escalation point for internal queries and work closely with external suppliers to deliver high quality robust solutions.

To be successful as a Team Lead you need to possess first class communication skills and a collaborative ‘can do’ approach. Location can be flexible based at the depot closest to home although some travel may be required.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for a small team, to include; Management, mentoring and Onboarding.
  • Providing an escalation path for the business for issues / queries.
  • Managing the allocation, prioritisation and progression of tasks.
  • Utilising Service Desk systems to maintain SLA’s, with root cause analysis where necessary.
  • Providing a high level of customer service.
  • Liaising with business stakeholders and IT Leadership Team to provide updates on projects and issues.
  • Ensuring team adherence to Group IT policies and procedures
  • Undertake and plan project activities for the development-implementation of new clients, sites, applications enhancements and upgrades:
  • Business & system analysis & design, development, system testing for warehouse management systems, transport management systems and EDI integration.
  • Analyses project activities / enhancement requests for both business and technical producing proposal/design documents for peer-review.
  • Involves liaising with both technical (internal and external) and business contacts
  • Investigates operational needs and problems, and opportunities, recommending improvements
  • Specifies user/system interfaces and translates logical designs into physical designs taking account of target environment, performance requirements and existing systems. Produces detailed designs and documents all work using required standards, methods and tools, including prototyping tools where appropriate.
  • Adherence to Project Management Process and project approval process.
  • Assists in identifying and assessing risks to the success of the project.
  • Prepares and controls project and quality plans and tracking activities against the plans.
  • Lead the IT work stream during the UAT phase supporting both internal colleagues and external clients to ensure successful completion to deadline.
  • Proactive time management required and adherence to deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and relationship builder.

Qualifications
  • A full UK driving license is required.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, acting as the conduit between the business users and IT.
  • Experience of developing business systems such as Finance, Warehouse, Transport Management and ERP systems.
  • Good management, interpersonal and team skills.
  • Demonstrable experience of involvement in a full project lifecycle including requirements elicitation / documentation, testing, UAT support, change management and live implementations.
  • Must be capable of participating in concurrent multiple projects.
  • BCS or equivalent qualification in Business Analysis is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience in managing a team.
