Purpose of the Role
To partner with the EMEA category team to set the marketing vision and strategic framework for how to best forge marketing partnerships with key hardlines licensees that unlock maximum value for The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) EMEA, in line with the guidance from the brand playbooks.
- Partner with the senior marketing managers to activate and implement the strategies with impact and scale across the region.
- Be an innovator and thought leader, sharing and receiving global marketing and licensing best practice, ensuring that EMEA is leading the way in marketing execution.
- Partner with the global and EMEA creative teams across the business to ensure creative excellence to help drive the business.
Areas of Responsibility
- Lead the development of 360 marketing campaigns to deliver on the agreed business / franchise strategies and objectives
- In partnership with leadership develop and agree marketing focus and rolling annual franchise activity calendars
- Work with divisions of TWDC, the CPGP retail team, key accounts and licensees to develop best in class plans to maximise opportunities
- Agree objectives, timings, mechanics and costs with each center of excellence for key initiatives
- Ensure plans are consistent with companywide retail, franchise and category strategies. Plans to include mix where appropriate of consumer advertising, sales promotion, trade advertising and promotion, PR and funding plans. - Monitor and evaluate performance of key initiatives
- Assign and manage external agencies to help implement marketing strategies
- Help oversee the marketing needs for road shows and showcases with input into agenda planning, document writing, presenting and creative treatments (Oct/Nov and March/April) and ad-hoc throughout the year
- Partner with digital, social and CRM teams to enhance key initiatives
- Lead partnerships team to optimise deals across all marketing initiaitives cross-category
- Work with sales planning and retail analytics group to help plan delivery of targets, evaluate activity and ensure continuity of product supply
General
- Engage team in the strategy and translate this into measurable objectives whilst motivating and inspiring the team to succeed
- Ensure appropriate training is provided to team including pertinent legal training and ensure the team is operating within legal parameters
Areas of Accountability
- Accountable to Vice President, Marketing
- Accountable for integrating with category leadership to developing and presenting annual marketing plans the achieve business goals and objectives
- Accountable for leading the development of 360 marketing campaigns to deliver on the agreed franchise strategies and objectives

- Accountable for operating within legal and brand parameters and undertaking necessary training as provided by the relevant department and ensuring the team are also adhering to said guidelines

Experience and Professional Qualifications Required
- Degree level education in a related field or equivalent work experience within a matrix environment
- Experience operating at director level at Disney or other global brand
- Proven hardlines experience and detailed working understanding of key licensees, essential
- Proven experience in global brand marketing / management, preferable
- Franchise, retail and shopper marketing experience
- Understanding of licensing and vertical categories
- Demonstrable experience in growing a business
- Proven experience of building effective relationships, leading and managing change and collaboration across departments to achieve joint goals
- Proven experience creating a team vision and implementing it including translating the vision into goals, objectives and deliverables
