Job Summary
The Director, Employee Relations, HR Policy & Regulatory operates as the subject matter expert in leading and managing all Employee Relations and HR/Employment related regulatory, compliance and governance demands across EMEA and APAC. Reporting to the Managing Director, Head of HR for EMEA and APAC and working with the ER Specialist based in the US, you will provide guidance to both the HR organization and the firm on practices, policies, processing, and programs that ensure we are operating within local expectations and help drive and deliver strategic initiatives and projects.
Primary Responsibilities
Employee Relations, HR Policy & Regulatory responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Ownership for HR related regulatory and compliance requirements and demands with a specific focus on EMEA (including UK) and APAC (including Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, China and Taiwan).
- Management of employee relations matters, M&A activity, and strategic plans to ensure upskilling, development and awareness building across the enterprise on employee relations matters.
- Conducting and/or supporting investigations and disciplinary, grievance and performance management issues and supporting global managers on regional and local differences
- Working closely with ER lead in the US on global initiatives and strategic ER plans.
- Advising business leaders and internal experts to ensure compliance with applicable local laws and regulations, working closely with our global compliance and legal functions
- Advising the global HR team on practices and approaches by country
- Building and maintaining relationships across the territories
- Working as a subject matter expert with our internal functions, relevant committees, and teams on regulatory, risk and compliance matters
- Process execution, process mapping/documentation, record keeping and manage compliance and regulatory needs
- Manage and deliver strategic initiatives and projects as needed
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing complex ER related matters across Europe, the UK and within APAC (approx. 8-10 years)
- Demonstrated global experience in employee relations, risk, and compliance HR
- Thorough understanding and hands on application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, standards, regulations, and practices
- Demonstrated experience in managing ER related projects and change
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; must be a clear, concise, and persuasive communicator
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to quickly build rapport with internal clients
- Ability to leverage data and analytics to drive effective decision making
- Demonstrated success in operating within a global matrixed environment
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent expected
- SHRM/HRCI certification and/or employment law qualified preferred
