The Opportunity

Director of Customer Programmes- Providing overall responsibility of Gentrack’s Project Management delivery capability across multiple projects in accordance to project scope and Gentrack corporate governance.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Provides senior level resolution to customers on project related issues
  • Responsible for “coaching” the customer and the Gentrack project teams through the project lifecycle in attaining the objectives of scope, quality, budget and timeline
  • Identifies and mitigates risks on all projects
  • Ideally undertake the role of PM on at least one project (e.g. BAU)
  • Responsible for the timely recruitment and training of PMs.
  • Responsible for the appropriate processes, policies and procedures being applied to projects (e.g. Agile techniques)
  • Responsible for ensuring project status reports are issued to customers in accordance with expectations and are of appropriate quality.
  • Perform the role of a conduit between the Project Managers and the Product team (specifically the Product Managers) to ensure that Project Managers are fully aware of the Product Roadmap and understand the implication of each new key feature.
  • Promote the development and use of re-usable PM tools and practices
  • Foster continual process improvement
  • Responsible for scheduling and managing regular internal Practice Meetings where experiences and issues are discussed and shared across the practice.
  • Motivation and support of Project Managers and their delivery teams.
  • Leading and mentoring of Project Managers to promote and develop strong project management expertise and practises across Gentrack’s professional services
  • Protecting project budgets by adhering to project scope and ensuring solutions are appropriate and efficient
  • Reviews project estimates and revenue forecasts
  • Supporting the pre-sales team to create project proposals as required

Who you are:

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in technical leadership of large implementation projects
  • Enterprise solutions in software development
  • SDLC and Project Methodologies


Other helpful skills:

  • Understanding of the energy industry, including key companies.
  • Experience working in tech or for a software vendor.
  • Experience in driving international growth through marketing initiatives.
  • Experience working in a start-up environment or smaller company with a big vision.
  • A generalist by nature – happy to get stuck in across the marketing mix.

This role is in the detail, end-to-end and hands on. You’ll need to be a self-starter with knowledge, ideas and the ability to inspire others.
