WAKING NIGHT SUPPORT WORKER

£19,656 P/A
36 hours P/W

Main duties of the Support Worker:
- To engage effectively with the client group
- To prepare and distribute medication to clients
- To meet the needs of Banbury Lodge’s premises/property security
- To liaise effectively and cooperatively with colleagues
- To have completed the induction process
- To be prepared to work towards NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care
- To undertake regular training and supervision sessions in-house and externally
- To comply with Banbury Lodge’s policies, procedures and terms and conditionsTo have good time keeping and attendanceTo have good general and overall conduct and presentation
- To carry out all tasks with professionalism and in accordance with Banbury Lodge’s policies particularly those on Equal and Diversity and Confidentiality
- Any other duties and responsibilities expressed and implied which arise from the nature and character of the post within the Organisation.
- Light cleaning duties
- To ensure clients safety is maintained and monitored over night
- To update client files with observations and changes of clients mood and behaviour on a nightly basis
- To email observations to the support and therapy team of any changes of clients mood and behaviour on a nightly basis.
- To print out emailed observations and information and placed in the support book ready for morning handover
- Archiving and maintaining the archive files both paper and electronic.
- To follow instructions and handed over information from support staff
Essential criteria: NVQ Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Good organisational skills and time management skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Competent within the demands of the role in Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Strong active listening skills
- Ability to undertake lone-working safely and effectively.
- Ability to negotiate and influence effectively in terms of professional boundaries.
- Ability to develop and review risk management plans.
- Ability to express empathy and a non-judgemental attitude with a calm, caring approach.
- Capacity to handle intensive and pressurised situations.
- Strong customer service skills.
