Digital Strategist - 2 years Fixed Term Contract

Role Overview

Reporting to the Head of Brand and Advertising, the Digital Strategist will be responsible for delivering a programme of digital communications, with the objective to increase Hitachi’s brand awareness and to create sales opportunities for Hitachi’s main businesses in Europe. Digital Strategist also have one direct report.

Business Group Overview

The role of the European Corporate Brand and Communication (ECBC) team is to reinforce Hitachi's image amongst senior decision makers and to deliver our story to the relevant internal and external stakeholders. The team covers brand management & development via all communications including advertising, events, PR, websites, social media etc.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

Web and Online

  • Manage the day-to-day activities and future growth of Hitachi’s corporate web activities in Europe, in terms of coordination and planning, content development and maintenance, evaluation by liaising with Hitachi's HQ in Japan.

  • Be responsible for messaging and information provided to the public through online channels, which have a reach of over 1 million followers on social and approximately 1 million website visitors/year.

  • Working closely with Hitachi’s HQ in Japan and other regional headquarters, support planning and delivery of social media programmes and proactively manage the contacts with Hitachi’s social media agencies.

  • Be the day-to-day contact point with Hitachi’s group companies for web and social media activities and proactively manage the contacts with Hitachi’s web agency.

  • Provide advice on Hitachi’s web and online activities, in particular in the field of social media. Investigate new social media channels and recommend innovative approaches.

  • The handling of web/social media enquiries via the back office management of the Hitachi group websites in Europe and global social media channels.

  • Preparation of various web activity reports and documents.

  • Arrange and proceed various internal web activity meetings.

  • Support group companies in creation and planning of new websites, new social media channels.

  • Be responsible for the selection, training and daily management of our digital intern.

  • Provide analytical review of the website and digital activities, generating data and reporting on the effectiveness of our digital activities

General

  • Work collaboratively with the wider ECBC team to deliver integrated communications projects.

  • Implement PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle in every activity.

  • Coordinate the application of the appropriate Hitachi financial procedure.

  • Keeping up to date about the most recent evolutions and developments in area of responsibility.

  • Supervise direct reporting staff.

Skills & Experience

  • It is important to have an understanding of various new media platforms such as social networking, so that opportunities for branding can be fully exploited.

  • Previous experience relating the use of web such as CMS systems in general would be beneficial.

  • Previous experience in Google Analytics and GTM to bring web analytics, campaign performance tracking would be beneficial.

  • Ability to multi-task in order to achieve deadlines, plus excellent planning skills.

  • Excellent Interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly build and develop good working relationships with key contacts (internally and externally).

  • A creative individual, who is able to contribute ideas to continue to develop content and improve brand presence.

  • Needs to be an excellent team worker.

  • Experience/knowledge of working within a large industrial organisation.

  • It would be a 2 years Fixed Term Contract
