You would join the multi-award-winning digital marketing and PR team that is a centre of excellence for employer branding and recruitment marketing across government.   • Increasing awareness of DWP Digital, positioning us as thought leaders and innovators, building credibility and trust and maximising reach of our content across a range of channels.
  • Targeting audiences through relevant, compelling content and clear navigation encouraging them to engage with online content and find out more about DWP Digital.

  • Improving the customer experience from attraction through to retention.

Job description

As Senior Digital Marketing Manager you will play a critical role in shaping and implementing the attraction marketing content strategy. You will be involved in:

  • Leading, planning and delivering innovative digital marketing strategies and campaigns to build brand awareness across the digital sector.
  • Using a range of marketing techniques to reach, engage and convert external audiences, including digital advertising, SEO, Search/PPC, content marketing, social media engagement, PR and partnerships and influencer marketing.
  • Working closely with partners within and beyond DWP Digital to develop and deliver engaging campaigns to help build digital capability for DWP, using audience insight, sector intelligence and evaluation to shape activities and demonstrate impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and implements professional-standard communications and engagement strategies which use a range of channels, including marketing campaigns, stakeholders, press, digital and social media, to deliver effective, innovative and measurable communications to multiple audiences.
  • Applies strong campaign management principles and quality-control across work, using the Government Communications Service OASIS model to ensure that communications are creative, insight-driven and carefully evaluated. Manages plans proactively to deliver projects (often delivered concurrently) on time and to budget.
  • Builds strong partnerships across and beyond DWP (including within DWP Digital, Internal Communications, Press Office, HR, other government departments and external organisations) to create joined-up strategies and delivery plans.
  • Provides expert, strategic communications advice to colleagues across Digital Group.
  • Develops the capability of self and team to build an innovative and multi-skilled function, (providing strong and supportive line management where appropriate).
  • Plays an active role in the wider Digital Engagement community, encouraging collaborative cross-team delivery, providing professional support.

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need, but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. Salary Information

Salary for this role is from £43,698 (Band min) to £50,578 (Band max).

Our offer to successful candidates will be based on an assessment of your skills and experience as demonstrated at interview.

Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer should maintain their current salary.

Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion may move to the bottom of the next grade pay scale or 10% increase in salary whichever would be the greater.

  • Lead projects and teams using an integrated campaigns approach, Develop innovative digital communication strategies. Draw on knowledge of emerging trends in digital marketing and social media and apply this knowledge when developing content and channels.
  • Develop and implement effective communication plans, working with stakeholders and partners to deliver against objectives. Managing resources, suppliers, ensuring outputs are cost effective and delivered to a high quality.
  • Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of communications activity, providing summary of impact of activity against objectives and goals, considering lessons learnt and improvement options.
  • Use of strong written and verbal communications skills.
