Job description
A great opportunity has risen to manage the IT operations at Asthma + Lung UK. The role is a blend of infrastructure support, service desk delivery with additional responsibility to ensure that our third-party suppliers deliver great service levels.
Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime. We also campaign for clean air and for better NHS diagnosis and treatment.
Our IT environment is reasonably complex with Azure and hosted data centre environments, full O365 deployment, multiple website environments, Mitel VOIP phone and conferencing systems. Reporting to the Director of Technology, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, so that it remains responsive and flexible, and able to adjust to future needs and project requirements. You will also be responsible for the daily support requirements of staff, working with our managed service provider and other partners to provide an effective and timely service.
You will have both excellent all-round IT skills in support and infrastructure, combined with a passion for ensuring excellence in customer service. You will be organised, a strong communicator and team player. You will be able to see the detail without losing sight of the bigger picture
It is a demanding role for someone who can influence and drive departmental change whilst ensuring an effective and responsive IT operations service.
As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits including 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), membership of a health cash plan, employee assistance programme, cycle-to-work scheme, interest-free annual season Travelcard loan and pension scheme. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation committed to being the driving force behind the transformation of lung health.
