Our Organisation
The Cheltenham Trust is an independent charity that manages five iconic venues at the heart of Cheltenham including the Pittville Pump Room, Cheltenham Town Hall, Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, Leisure at Cheltenham, and the Prince of Wales Stadium.
Across all our venues, cafés, indoor and outdoor spaces we plan and deliver a wide range of year round events including free events for the local community and visitors to Cheltenham, live shows, conferences, weddings, exhibitions, markets and dinners.

The Role – Digital Marketing Events Officer
You will manage digital marketing for events through the trust’s online ticketing system, and other trust CRM systems, relating to bookings, sales, hires and events, and ticket sales. You will create seating plans, put tickets on sale, collating content and images for supporting promotions on our websites and social media. You will liaise with hirers and promoters for paid for marketing activities; monitor ticket sales and produce promotional e-communications. You will be organised and pro-active with excellent attention to detail. You will support the trust’s growth aspirations working as part of the marketing and communications team.
Duties will include:
- Creating floor plans for hires/co-productions/shows/concerts/in-house and external events as required.
- Drafting content, including images, descriptions and pricing for websites
- Create events pages and upload events to websites/booking system or equivalent CRM for all activities, as required
- Putting shows on sale to pre-set on sale dates working with promoters and the trust’s external programmer
- Drafting content and securing images for social media posts for events and FB events
- Ensuring all events and activities are correctly input and uploaded to the digital booking/CRM system and digital channels, monitoring for revisions.
- Liaise and coordinate with relevant colleagues in respect of issuing tickets to ticket agents and customers.
- Acts as a Spektrix champion, training and mentoring colleagues, as required, to ensure robust and resilient ticketing operation at all times
- Collating information for events, liaising with trust colleagues, promoters, hirers and event organisers to ensure we have the right information in the right place at the right time.
- Responding to queries effectively and efficiently.
- Provide ticket sales reports to promoters and ticket agents.
- Tracking ticket sales, reporting and suggesting appropriate actions.
- Producing management information reports to monitor and analyse the success of events.
- Monitor Artifax (generic name e.g. artist information system) database to verify contractual information and co-ordinate where there are inconsistencies and anomalies reporting to the appropriate manager.
- Building e-communications and understanding and compliance with all GDPR requirements in relation to the trust’s databases and e-communications.
- Utilising the Meta Business suite to create Facebook Adverts and boost posts at the request of both internal and external stakeholders.
Our Requirements:
- Excellent IT skills and knowledge of digital communications platforms including WordPress and Microsoft Office
- Customer focused and responsive, delivers excellent customer service
- Communicates effectively at all levels (excellent verbal and written skills)
- Prioritises and meets tight deadlines
- Web management – demonstrable ability to upload content and images to digital channels
- Confident using all social media channels to include Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok
- Understanding of copyright
- Five GCSEs to include English and Maths
- Further education to degree level desirable, and/or experience/qualification in a related field
- Excellent digital skills and demonstrable experience of managing and operation digital platforms, websites and social media
- Practical, can-do, hands-on approach.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple demands and deadlines.
The Package
- Full time role, 40 hours per week
- Salary £22,000 per annum
