Multi-Skilled Craftsperson / Production Maintenance
Our global client based in Compton, Berkshire is recruiting an experienced Craftsperson/Production Maintenance to join their busy team. The role is a full-time temporary assignment initially signed off for 6 months with a possible extension offering an hourly rate of up to £20.50ph, plus holiday pay and other benefits.
Candidates will required to work 37.5 hours per week (8am – 4pm Monday – Friday), but overtime working could be required including some out of hours working. Overtime will be paid at one and half or double time in line with standard department policy and mileage costs/callout payments for call-out’s as per company policy.
Duties include:
This position is a ‘hands on’ role, working within the production maintenance group and reporting to the engineering supervisor. Day to day duties will include servicing, maintenance and repair of the following items of plant and equipment:
- Autoclaves
- Filling & packaging equipment
- Pressure vessels
- Steam & hydraulic piping systems
- Pumps motors and gearboxes
- Heating ventilation & air conditioning
- Refrigeration plant
- Actuated valves
- Electrical control & Switchgear
- Electro-pneumatic controls
- AC & DC machines
In addition, the position will involve:
- Electrical faultfinding and repairs.
- Mechanical faultfinding and repairs.
- Participation in a standby rota and reaction to breakdown call-outs.
Skills/Experience:
- Indentured or equivalent electrical apprenticeship
- JIB approved electrician
- A sound knowledge and understanding of the Institute of Electrical Engineers current regulations for electrical installations.
- An understanding & practical experience of working within a production orientated environment.
- The ability to work both individually and as a member of a team.
- The willingness to participate in a shift system.
- The willingness to participate in weekend and out of normal working hours overtime.
- Due to the requirement for call-outs, it would be considered a necessity that candidates live locally.
- Training can be provided for suitable candidates not fulfilling all the technical aspects of the ‘General Duties’ section.
- It is preferable that the candidate is of an electrical bias with additional mechanical training.
- Training in working within a pharmaceutical environment can be provided.
Education/Qualifications
- City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent NVQ
