Marketing Executive, BBC Good Food Shows (£27,000 plus commission)

About the role
We are looking for a creative, diligent and enthusiastic Marketing Executive to join our team to work across the BBC Good Food Shows.
As a Marketing Executive you’ll have the ability to support our event marketing team, helping them deliver first-class multi-channel marketing campaigns to attract the right quality and quantity of audiences and to achieve maximum revenue across our events and experiences. We’re looking for someone who will understand the objectives and timescales for the events and work in an organised way to deliver the campaign plan.
As a Marketing Executive you will;
- Work with the marketing team on the implementation of marketing plans to achieve objectives relating to visitor attendance and revenue targets
- Understand the objectives and timescales for the event and work to those deadlines
- Work with the data and CRM leads, to manage the campaign data requirements, supported by the Marketing Manager
- Assist in the production of targeted and effective marketing materials
- Help maintain day-to-day relationships with relevant agencies and suppliers including creative, ticketing, print, media buying and PR
- Assist in the planning and delivery of multi-channel marketing campaigns including print and online advertising, direct mail, email, sales promotions and partnerships, social media and PR campaigns
- Ensure each event website is kept fully up to date with relevant content and consistent brand voice
- Manage email marketing using the Adestra platform, delivering segmented campaigns with well written and engaging copy
- Liaise directly with exhibitors to ensure they are apprised of relevant marketing activity and that they are maximising marketing opportunities pre, during and post-event
- Assist in the development and scheduling of social media campaigns
- Manage customer service enquiries, responding to inbound customer emails, and social media comments and messages
- Support in the delivery of the detailed results of the marketing campaign for the creation of post-show reports
- Support in the B2B promotional campaign activity to help drive new exhibitor stand bookings
- Create surveys in Explori and Google Forms, supported by the Marketing Manager, to deliver deeper audience
understandings - Use of basic software such as Canva, Pixlr and Video editors for creation of campaign assets, images and short-form video
Requirements
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of marketing and campaign planning
- Experience in basic website management
- Understanding of digital marketing tools and campaigns (email, social, and website)
- Good overall IT skills including Outlook and Microsoft Office
- Organised, with good time management
- Excellent written English and proof-reading skills
- Interest in content and copywriting
- Creative flair and eye for design
- Effective time management
- A proactive approach and the ability to work under pressure
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- Willing to learn, adapt and grow within a role
- A good visual eye for design and imagery, with strong attention to detail
- Passion and understanding of live events
- Able to attend all event days, working onsite alongside the rest of the team
