POSITION SUMMARY:
The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing the marketing communications strategy of the Houston Food Bank, with a focus on digital media. This position will be managing and updating the Houston Food Bank website, overseeing social media strategy, and providing support with special communications projects. Responsibilities also include analyzing Google analytics and metrics, supporting digital fundraising efforts with direct marketing vendors, assisting cross-departmental teams in developing ideas to meet goals, and identifying new opportunities to increase brand awareness. The Digital Marketing Manager also contributes to the overall communications and marketing efforts of the Marketing Communications department, including content creation, as well as writing and editing for all mediums as assigned.

- Builds, plans, and oversees the execution of marketing strategies, with a primary focus on digital media (e.g. website, emails, social media, and blogs).
- Analyzes current services and strategies to identify new opportunities.
- Liaises with Food Bank departments to optimize brand awareness and mission.
- Establishes best practices in digital marketing.
- Stays up to date with digital technology developments.
- Measures and reports the performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assesses against goals (ROI and KPIs).
- Supports online fundraising strategy and initiatives; looks for opportunities to optimize unsolicited donations and other online efforts to reach goal projections.
- Collaborates with direct marketing vendors on Google Ads Grant and other search engine marketing tools and services.
- Monitors and evaluates the digital landscape and provides suggestions for improvement.
- Provides content creation support as required.
- Collaborates with Food Bank departments to maintain the Houston Food Bank website, create landing pages, and optimize the user experience.
- Responsible for search engine optimization to increase traffic to the Food Bank website.
- Analyzes web traffic metrics and suggests solutions to boost web presence.
- Oversees annual website audit for overall site health and web compliance standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, plus 5-7 years of related experience (not including internships)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- 5-7 years experience in all aspects of digital content strategy development, implementation required
- 2 years of experience utilizing data analysis, data mining, and analytics
- Advanced proficiency in and understanding of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. required
- Strong working knowledge of CMS and HTML proficiency is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and insurance
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong writing skills in a variety of contexts, including web and social media (must have portfolio/samples of work)
- Proven work experience as a Digital Marketing Strategist or Digital Marketing Manager
- Demonstrable experience with SEO/SEM
- Fluency in website and social media curation
- Proficiency with website CMS: WordPress
- Knowledge of web analytics tools like Google Analytics
- Familiarity with web design including HTML skills
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud suite
- Hands-on experience with online marketing tools and practices
- Basic knowledge of fundraiser marketing techniques
- Versatility; team orientation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee will need to have the average ability to hear horns, warnings, and alerts associated with a warehouse. The employee is occasionally required to travel to other sites for business.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While the job is generally performed in an enclosed office environment, the associate is occasionally exposed to freezers, enclosed and/or tight spaces, wet and/or humid conditions, areas in which moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals are present, strong food-related smells, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the office environment is typically quiet, but the employee will be occasionally exposed to loud noise levels (e.g., horns, fans).
TRAVEL REQUIRED:
This role supports all hours of operations at the Houston Food Bank facilities as necessary and requires a flexible work schedule. This position also requires periodic local travel to outside community organizations across Greater Houston and surrounding areas (Houston Food Bank serves 18 counties).
