The department
The Business Development & Marketing team is comprised of two teams – Business Development (Sectors and Practices) and Marketing Communications.
The Marketing Communications team delivers a range of core firm wide services including digital marketing and brand management, design, marketing tech, events management, marketing data/reporting, internal and external communications.
The Business Development teams provide a broad range of strategic and day to day marketing and business development support as well as managing a range of cross-practice and firm-wide initiatives.
The Role
The Digital Marketing Assistant role is part of the Marketing Communications team and will be responsible for playing an active role in ensuring the firm’s marketing activities are carried out in a timely and efficient manner, and that day-to-day tasks are managed effectively. The role will report into the Digital Marketing and Performance Manager as well as supporting our Digital Marketing Executive.
This is a development role with a wide remit to support and underpin the team across the various marketing communication channels, with a view to, in time, developing into a more tailored and specialist role in digital marketing communications.
Responsibilities
- Website: updating the website with new content and changes to existing pages, e.g., new joiner bios, events, news, articles, publications and other content.
- Social media: posting content on the firm’s social media channels in line with agreed processes and best practice, assisting the team to review and analyse the success of those posts in line with target KPIs.
- CRM: support with the Client Relationship Management (CRM) database administration, supporting the CRM Manager with any tasks that are required, including but not limited to: setting up and managing marketing lists; reviewing and updating contact information; logging events activity; client and prospect targeting and tracking.
- Email marketing: creating email marketing campaigns and sending them to target lists in CRM using our email marketing solution, tracking event responses and reviewing the success of our campaigns, producing reports where required.
- Internal communications: support our communications manager to create the firm’s internal communications and updating other internal channels with relevant information, providing regular roundups to the firm detailing content that has been uploaded to the website and socials.
- Online enquiries: assisting with monitoring on-line enquiries received via the various mailboxes (website, events, Twitter etc.).
- Events: providing support with client events including coordination of invite lists, event communications logistics pre, during and post event, on the day support (registering attendees), preparing event materials, measuring effectiveness and working with the team to ensure effective follow-up.
- Best practice: work with the team to promote a best practice approach and communicate information effectively, promote the effective use of the firm’s CRM database and identify ways to improve processes to help save time, make things easier or enhance the service we deliver.
- Providing support on other projects and tasks as required.
Experience and skills required
- Previous experience of working within a marketing function would be desirable, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Excellent attention to detail skills.
- Proactive attitude to work; brings a high level of commitment and enthusiasm to managing multiple tasks. An understanding of technology platforms used in marketing: particularly web platforms. Knowledge of Vuture and Sitecore web CMS desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work well in a team, with a positive and friendly attitude. An understanding of common web analytics reporting tools, such as Google Analytics. Knowledge of the Google Search Console and Looker Studio are desirable, but not essential.
- Able to manage their own workload with guidance/input from team members. Always trying to improve ways of working.
- Comfortable taking a brief for a project, working as part of a project team with supervision or working independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate at all levels, from senior partner to junior staff.
