The Business Management Operations (BMO) Team provides a service across the Group Services & Security (GS&S) Team within Group Chief Operating Office (GCOO). The team is split across multiple towers, one of which is our Automation, Insight & Analysis team. Joining this small group that is charged with making a big difference across GS&S will help us succeed supporting Metrics, insights and modelling, PowerBI production, and Operational reporting. Within the role there is an opportunity to work across all towers as a key member of the Business Operations SLT.
GS&S plays a major part in delivering our purpose to Help Britain Prosper through our ability to deliver Change across an evolving environment. We believe in providing sustainable technical solutions ensuring services the bank provides are robust, secure, and fit for purpose. This role will provide a first-class service to circa 6000 colleagues requiring our day-to-day support.
We work in a hybrid model, spending a minimum of 40% of the week in the office collaborating with others. We welcome applications from Leeds, Halifax, Manchester, Edinburgh and Bristol.

About this opportunity
For both roles the work you do will have visibility at Director level, so attention to detail and an absolute focus on accuracy are essential. The team has been running in its current format for three months or so and with every process we automate and every report we produce, we generate demand for more of the same – it’s an ideal time to be joining us and to work with a dynamic, responsive and innovative group of colleagues.
Becoming an integral part of the team working self-sufficiently, and across the team, often to timelines that require quick turnaround and often dealing with requests that have ambiguity and are open-ended. As well as working with your peers, you'll collaborate with the Senior Manager, making recommendations about the best way to handle requests, and providing a simple vision of the end-state for each request.
As an Assistant Business Manager, you'll also:
- Engage across the O&TR leadership team – lots of our actions are generated in-house - and across GS&S, to fully understand what is needed.
- Make recommendations and suggestions that contribute to support our customers – thinking beyond their initial request and layering insight and expertise to go beyond the simple requirements of any task.
- Often, our customers don’t know what they can have until we show them the art of the possible – that's where we make valuable contributions
What you'll need
A willingness to get stuck in and learn on the job is essential.
Ideally you'll have:
- A background in Power BI reporting and advanced Excel skills –we will continual to support your development in the role. Attitude and proficiency are as important as experience
- A good understanding of ‘Power Automate’ and other Microsoft automation tools
- Experience of providing data that becomes Management Information and drives action into the business
- Strong communications– able liaise with colleagues at all levels of seniority, potentially up to Director level
