Job description
An exciting role for a digital journalist has opened up at BristolWorld as we look to continue our growth in journalism and audience in the city.
We launched only 18 months ago, but already we are reaching thousands of people every day with stories and videos that matter.
From our Level Up Bristol inequality campaign to looking at key issues such as bike thefts, potholes and student suicides, we are proud of our investigations so far.
We’re also big on breaking news, covering major transport and crime issues and keeping our audience up to date with what’s happening at our two big football teams.
And with Bristol being such a vibrant, beautiful city with so much going on, we reflect that with our what’s on offering; from weekend beer trails to open garden events.
We are looking for a talented, energetic and resourceful reporter to join our friendly team. You will have your finger on the pulse of what’s going on in Bristol, and know what people in the city want to read about.
You will have the hunger to learn, develop and embrace change as our website develops. You will have a solid grasp of SEO and a natural understanding of what makes great digital content.
And you will feel comfortable doing video; from running a Facebook Live on a major incident to presenting an engaging video on one of the city’s amazing food outlets.
We are reviewing applicants on an ongoing basis, so if you are interested in the role, please apply straightaway. Please note that this role will be home based, but it will also offer opportunities for in-person team collaborations if desired.
